Hit or miss! Spirit is a gamble and your experience is either going to be smooth sailing or a mess LOL. I would highly recommend using Spirit for trips that are about 1-3 hours long and/or day trips when you have only a personal item and/or carry on since this company is known for losing luggage. Never experienced that but I’ve heard too many struggle stories. But Spirit isn’t that bad despite their reputation. Seems like they’ve been trying to do better lately. They have given freebies when a flight got delayed, which shocked me. Flight attendants are pleasant. And you get there safely. I haven’t ran into any major issues with them but I won’t stretch my luck by flying internationally or over 3 hours LOL. The seats and room can be better and cozier but you get what you pay for. Would suggest paying more for a cozier front seat with more space for your legs.

Although so many people say they do not like Spirit, I love Spirit and here is why. They have been reliable. With over 50 flights in the past three years, I had two cancellations and those were due to weather that all airlines were facing. When you fly with Spirit, you should learn how to pack. For example, my wife and I take our two kids on week long vacations and the four of us can fit into two backpacks. Therefore our bags are always free as they are considered personal items. And the price of the flights are by far the most affordable. It is thanks to Spirit that I can give my family the experiences that I do.

I’ve taken quite a few flights with Spirit, mostly short domestic ones. I was trying to see how low I could keep costs for a one-or-two night trip, minimal baggage, minimal frills. Spirit is my go-to air lines I will always look for a flight via spirit before other major airlines! My experiences have always been short of amazing from the staff and boarding process !
