I use it for everything: my rice, my meats, and even for frying, as it withstands high temperatures. Above all, it's healthier than other regular oils.
We have a friend who owns a boutique olive oil company that imports directly from Greece, so our standards are high — but for everyday use, Kirkland’s organic EVOO is surprisingly solid. It’s not quite small-batch artisanal, but it’s fresh, flavorful, and reliable.
We grew up making our own grape leaves from vines we planted ourselves, so Mediterranean staples are a big part of our kitchen. This olive oil is great for everyday drizzling — on stuffed grape leaves, hummus, baba ghanoush, or just a fresh tomato and cucumber salad. It’s smooth with a slightly peppery finish and holds up well for both raw and cooked applications.
It’s also an incredible value for the size and quality. If you’re a home cook who goes through a lot of olive oil, this belongs in your pantry.
The kirkland brand extra virgin olive oil is better tasting than some brand name virgin olive oils. Has a better price point as well. . . . . . . . . . .
