I don't go to the supermarket because I do all my groceries through Amazon Fresh, and all the vegetables and products are fresh with the best prices on the market. The deliveries are always on time and with the best services and all the groceries are delivered at your door .
I know this post is over a year old but because of the changes in packaging I think it is pertinent now to speak about it. I started using the service last April and have been using it almost weekly. I never received green bags or cardboard boxes. Insulated bags with dry ice were used for frozen food and frozen water bottles for refrigerated food. The rest came in brown paper bags. That all suddenly changed mid June. Whether you ordered ice cream, fresh milk or canned tomato paste, it was all delivered in good ol' plain brown paper bags with nothing added. That must be a great thing for the environment but how is appropriate, safe temperature maintained in transit? I have asked Amazon several times and Amazon has not wanted to answer that for me. It's a mystery to Amazon associates, it appears. It does seem your frozen and refrigerated items have no refrigeration from the moment they leave the warehouse in the delivery person's car to the moment you put them in your fridge. So that's a concern. Another concern is freshness in terms of expiration date. When I go to the store I buy cheese, yogurt or eggs that I might not start using for 10-15 days. Forget about that with Amazon Fresh as many items have just a few days left before expiration date. Amazon Fresh is very convenient for me but not nearly as fresh as I'd like it to be.
