While I've been on Influenster for a year, I'm just now becoming an active member of the community. I really want to acclimate myself to everything this community stands for and of course, provide my insight and recommendations for the products I love and adore. I personally am a connoisseur of all things beauty products and I can't wait to share that love with others!
This is a great vanilla scented scrub meant to scrub your lips clean specifically for when you wear matte lipsticks. It is not meant to be worn overnight like other comparable products, you instead put it on your lips, leave it on for a few minutes, and then wipe off with a tissue. I have been using this for a month and have had extremely successful results with this product. My only qualm is that it's $12 for a rather small jar.
Kylie oh Kylie. Where to start with your Lip kits? First off I think it is important to note that these are still nearly impossible to get, online being sold on her website. Also, her prices are definitely inflated. The quality of the products is pretty good but I just can't justify it between the cost issues and how hard it is to get it.
Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick is an extremely luxurious lipstick that I believe every true makeup lover should keep in their makeup bag. Yes, it is a little more expensive then your average lipstick but it is so worth it. From its moisturizing properties to its long-wear benefits, it truly is the perfect lipstick. I am also impressed every time I look at the large variety of color choices that come with this lipstick choice.
Smashbox has always been a hit or miss brand for me. Sometimes the quality of their products is amazing.. sometimes not so much. In terms of the Smashbox Full Exposure Waterproof Mascara, I think this mascara is basically just above the middle, almost at 65% if I were to give it a percentage. The reasoning why I gave it this score is because I liked the formula but I couldn't stand the applicator brush. Personally, I get so frustrated when makeup companies skimp on important tools like an actual brush to apply their product to your lashes... what are they thinking???? For that reason, I can not give them a full five stars and I probably would not even buy the product again.
I tried this lash primer about six months ago and I was actually less then impressed by it. The application brush for the Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer is less than efficient and does not a great job actually applying the product to your lashes. Put that important fact into the mix and that puts a huge wrench into using the actual product. As for the formula, I have used more impressive mascara primers at similar price points from Dior and Tarte and would most likely stay with them before buying another tube of this product.
I am so-so about this mascara. To me, mascara is all about the brush or applicator. But honestly, I don't like the applicator at all on the Better Than Sex mascara. Yes, the formula is okay but it is not extraordinary. I also found it to be a little clumpy at times. Combine that with the cost and other comparable mascaras at the same price points and I would rather use a Nars or Dior instead. Just my two cents..
The Urban Decay Naked Basics palette is a great introductory palette to walk you through the door of the Urban Decay Naked world. At $29 it is almost half the cost of a standard Naked palette at $54, but has most of the standard colors needed to make most of the key looks that are tried and true of any Naked brand look. What you definitely need to know is that the colors in this palette are MATTE so if you are looking for a satin, shimmer, or metallic, you definitely will not find it in this palette. This palette is actually more comparable to the Kat Von D Shade N Light Eye Contour Palette. That palette though is $48 so you are still coming out ahead by getting the Naked Basics. Trust me, this palette is win-win both on color choice, color payoff, and price!
The Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette is a great staple palette to have in your makeup arsenal, especially if you are building your base collection. It has the key colors to build such key concepts as a smokey eye and a contoured lid. I also like that Kat includes with the palette a detailed tutorial card so that makeup artists or just makeup lovers can try different types of looks at home. My only warning is that the eyeshadow did have a fair amount of fallout among application. I would either bake prior to application or use some sort of guard while applying the shadow as not to disturb the rest of your face.
Oh my goodness... Ruffles are my weakness. I absolutely love these things. You know how people say with potato chips you just can't have one.. that's me with Ruffles. And I also have to say that not all wavy potato chips balance out the same. Ruffles are by far above the pack in both taste and crispiness.
San Pellegrino to me is the mineral water that you always order in fancy restaurants by saying the famous phrase, "I'll have a san-pel." (By the way my husbands thinks I sound condescending when I do that.) The restaurant is usually over-priced, including the mineral water.
That sums up San Pellegrino to me. It is overprice and overrated. Also, I really don't believe that it actually taste that goods. Due to the fact that it is "actually" mineral water, it has a metallic taste. Does anyone really want sparking water that tastes like a pipe? I don't think so!
