Review for NYC New York Color NYC HD Color Trio Eye Shadow - 3 years, 9 months ago
I got this from Influenster in my Jolly VoxBox, in Long Beach Sands.
First off, I want to respectfully say that I didn't like that you guys decided to give us neutral shades; these aren't the most accurate shades for us to write a review on & not everyone likes neutral tones (#YoungerGenerationProbs).
These three shades were satin finish, so they're not shimmer and they're definitely not matte (still kind of a sheen). Although the colors were OK (just three variants of brown/taupe), the payoff was horrible. Even with a primer, the shadows were lackluster and still barely showed up. However, if you're someone who likes their shadows really subtle, then this trio will be great for you.
Of course, these shadows would be fabulous for a no-makeup-makeup look. The applicator is horrible, so I just use my finger, and the compact is small enough that I just throw it in my purse and can apply this on-the-go without worrying about misshapen application since the color is already so light.
Review for NYC Big Bold Plumping Lip Gloss - 3 years, 12 months ago
Sure, the color is nice. Sure, it's got a great sheen to it, and it will leave your lips feeling minty fresh and supple. Sure, it's a robust size for a lip gloss. But I hate it. It's got a weird scent that I don't particularly like. (I can't really describe it. It's kind of like fermented coconut and oddly minty, rotting fruit or something....) It's got a gritty feel, which I assume is the salt that they've added to make your lips feel dehydrated, causing you to need to reapply every half an hour or so - i.e. the incentive for you to keep buying this lip gloss.

It's horrid. It's overly thick, which doesn't help with the stickiness of the gloss. The one plus I have to say about this gloss is the color. It's really shiny, but has a perfect balance of color and sheen, so if you don't like opaque-pink lip glosses, then this is not the gloss for you. The applicator's okay, but it's just "meh." I think it causes me to put on too much gloss, given the large applicator size and the extremely large applicator tube, but that's perfect, because it's just more incentive for me NOT to buy this. Ever.

But thanks, Influenster, for giving this to me for free in my Varsity VoxBox. Even if I wasn't impressed.
For once, CoverGirl has actually delivered on one of its mascaras. (Marathon mascara doesn't count, since it's discontinued; otherwise, CoverGirl's Marathon mascara would take the cake. That is definitely one mascara that can actually last through a marathon.) Not only does Clump Crusher not leave any clumps, you don't even get any clumps during the entire application process. No matter how many coats you swipe on (I loaded on at least 5), there is not a single clump in sight. It's not the most impressive in terms of volume or length, but it definitely does enhance your lashes somewhat. (I have thin, short Asian lashes, and this gave them a bit of a boost in length... kind of...) I've never tried the waterproof formula, but based on other waterproof CoverGirl mascaras I've tried, I'm going to guess that it's not worth the money. For some reason, CG's waterproofs are always extremely lackluster and are most definitely NOT waterproof.
Review for The Taste on ABC - 4 years, 8 months ago
After watching a few clips of The Taste on Vimeo, I must say --- It's a must see. As in, "everybody needs to watch at least one episode of it right now."

Admittedly, it's a bit cliche... I mean, there are four judges that choose their teams (like The Voice), the name itself (reminiscent of a lot of competitive cooking shows), the four judges then judge the food (every other cooking show), and the best individual is awarded with immunity for one episode while the worst individual is kicked off.

What's really different about this show is that the judges actually blindly taste the food that they're judging. So they could actually be kicking one of their own members off the show.

I know. It's intense.

But regardless, The Taste is a show worth watching. Even if you don't watch cooking shows, The Taste has some pretty spectacular competition. Plus, Anthony Bourdain is on it.

Pinterest is so handy - you can find inspiration for ANY (yes, ANY) idea, be it t-shirt DIY, design inspiration, recipes, interior decorations... You name it, Pinterest has it. Long gone are the days of cork board pinboards (actually, I still have one...). Pinterest is the most handy tool ever. Just make sure you don't get addicted :)
Review for Pepperidge Farm® Goldfish® Cheddar Baked Snack Crackers - 4 years, 8 months ago
Cute. Eternal. And absolutely delicious. I always bring these to track meets and on long car trips, because not only are they adorable, they are my favorite snack ever.
Plus, they come in different colors and flavors.
I don't know if this makes me weird or something, but I always get the original Cheddar flavor (usually in bag form, but I like jumbo box form, too :)
My only warning would be to not overeat, but I don't think that's possible when you're dealing with the snack that smiles back.
Review for Kellogg's Pop-Tarts Frosted Strawberry - 4 years, 9 months ago
So, obviously, PopTarts are not the healthiest things on planet Earth.

But so what? They are delicious, quick, and for the five minutes that you're eating them, you are blissfully, peacefully, quiet and content.

I love PopTarts - they're one of those rare grab-and-go snacks that you take with you anywhere. But unlike fellow breakfast items that fall under the grab-and-go category, PopTarts actually taste good. Not only that, but they provide a quick energy fix that won't leave you feeling sluggish in the mornings.

Sure, maybe a lot of that awake-ness is just part of a sugar-high from the excessive amounts of sugar that is put into these (case in point: the frosted top, as well as the fillings), but they sure do taste really great.

The only downside of PopTarts (well, besides the 'lots of sugar' part) is the packaging. Does anybody else really hate the fact that they come in two? When I'm trying to hold one, the other PopTart just falls apart in my hand. Also, I hate the foil wrapping. It's too shiny. Or maybe it's just too thin and crinkly.

Oh, (I lied - there's another downside) also, some of the flavors are really bad. Don't buy the fruit-y flavors. They are horrible. They don't put a lot of cream filling sugary-ness in the middle, so they're really not worth it. However, the chocolate-y flavors (S'mores is my favorite) have a lot of filling in the middle, and it's super creamy (aka Extra Delicious).

If you have not eaten/tried/nibbled a PopTart ever before, you have lived a very deprived life.
Review for imPRESS Press-on Manicure - 4 years, 9 months ago
I strongly disliked these nails - they looked completely unnatural, didn't even fit (because they weren't long enough), and worst of all, they didn't even stick to my nails for longer than 10 minutes. I'm sorry, but these are probably the reason I'm never trying fake nails ever again.
Review for Dropbox - 4 years, 10 months ago
Dropbox is so handy: it's like a flashdrive on the internet. Of course, I'm sure people will just say, "but that's just like email!" While that might be slightly true, uploading to Dropbox is not as much of a hassle as adding a file to an email. Also, another major difference is that you can create both Public, Private, and Shared folders in Dropbox. If you share a folder with someone, that means that if you upload some document to the folder, the person who you shared it with can see the document instantaneously.

So get your Dropbox account today - it's free (unless you want to upgrade to get more space), and by doing simple things like sharing Dropbox on Twitter or inviting friends, you can get more space.
