I am working on a short story collection that I'm going to self-publish in 2016, er, I mean, *2018*. Love to blog. I am always trying out products & ideas to maintain a healthy and fun lifestyle that fits my goal to age gracefully and as naturally "me" as possible.
I heard about adding turmeric and coconut oil to coffee and milks. I don't drink cow milk (only soybean) so I tried adding turmeric coconut oil to my coffee. Have used the oil in coffee before but worried the spice would make it nasty tasting. Not so. Adds another layer of flavor (even though I use Almond Joy favored creamer!) to my coffee. I've heard of benefits of turmeric and this is an easy way to get my fix of it. BTW the coconut oil is added because turmeric is supposed to absorb better with fats. Can't believe how good this tastes in coffee and I trust the McCormick brand.
Love neem for lots of things: plant care, insect repellent, and for hair and skin. The smell if a love it or hate it deal. It's great for outdoor use, but is too distinct and musty IMO for personal use all the time. A really safe and effective use for outdoors.
I use a Keurig 1.0 and, like some other folk, I wasn't happy with strength of the brew. I used my regular brand of coffee in a reusable kcup and I tried a couple brands of cups. The best one for a strong brew is Cafe Bustelo, but for flavor in a pre-filled kcup, , I love G. N. Dark Magic. Smooth and rich, it makes a great cup of coffee. The only downside for me is the price of about $12 for 18 K-Cups. I'm going to look for the canned type and see how it works in the reusable kcup.
This is such a great concept for those of us who like wear our hair natural but want to switch things up. The shampoo did seem to strip my hair completely (which, I guess, is for the processing conditioner to work), and the product is not as gentle as I assumed. The conditioner did irritate my scalp a bit. I assumed I'd be able to switch back and forth between curly and straight. No. I lost a lot of curl pattern when I did my washout. Still, this is a good product idea & I bet they will be improving it as they get feedback. The only thing I would suggest for other consumers is to go and check the FAQs BEFORE using this so you know what to expect. I would give another half star if more info had been on packaging and even inner labels. Wish I'd read FAQs prior to buying. For myself, I could have gotten similar results from a deep condition and flatiron treatment. Some people with more resistant hair might love the product. Like I said: great concept, just read up first.
I like best the felt tip type. Goes on with easier precision and stays neat for hours. No smearing or running even if my face gets a little oily around the eyes. I actually compared it against a $24 eyeliner and prefer elf. Love, love, LOVE e. l. f for price and quality.
Like that it's quick, but... I can't make the coffee hotter than 192°, and it's hard to make a stronger brew. The 2.0 machine does have the stronger brew feature. The Menu button is also tricky to set. I always mess up and set the "Off" timer. This is an okay machine but, had I not gotten it as a gift, I wouldn't buy one.
