I'm a pet blogger in New Mexico. I love hiking and spending time with my dogs Daisy and Rosie. I try to live an active and healthy lifestyle and love beauty and health products that are natural or organic.
We tried the coconut oil version of this treat. At first my dogs were apprehensive, but they love them now. I like the size of these treats, plus they have a crease where you can easily break them in half into training treat size. Price was also reasonable.
My dogs go crazy for these biscuits. They are big so I usually split them in half. The bag is generally $16 after tax, but it's three pounds of treats, so I think it's a pretty good deal. My dogs have sensitive stomachs and they've never had a problem with these treats.
This backpack has taken a lot of rough hiking from my dogs - they run through brush, under logs, over logs, through water - after about 5 years, there are a few knicks and small holes, but overall it has stood the test of time. The backpacks are the best fit I've encountered for my two large, athletic dogs. It seems pretty ergonomic and is adjustable.
I have two of these toys and my large breed dogs are absolutely in love with them. It took them about a year before they got all the stuffing out of them, but they still enjoy them. The cool thing about this toy is the eight legs offer additional entertainment - there are several squeakers throughout the body and legs. A little pricey, but worth it.
This is a great frisbee for dogs. West Paw design is a great company that will even give you a replacement if the frisbee becomes damaged (happened to me). I love that this frisbee is soft on my dog's mouth. It also comes in fun colors - my dog has a pink and a baby blue. The other thing I like about it is you can turn it upside down and pour water into it to hydrate your dog.
This is a must-have if you live in a hot climate and like to take your dog out. You just wet it down before you go on the walk. I have had one for 8 years and it still works great for my black Lab mix. I live in New Mexico, so it's crucial even in the spring. If you live in a very humid climate it might not work as well, because it uses the power of evaporation to cool the dog.
This is a good natural shampoo for your dog. I used this on my large dogs - a Labrador/pitbull mix and a whippet/shepherd mix and it left them with a nice shine. I like using more natural products, and this doesn't feel over-scented or over-chemically, so I like it.
My dogs have been eating this for many years now. It's a good value for the price. The limited ingredient is helpful for my dogs, who have very sensitive stomachs. They also seem to love the taste - I never really have a problem getting them to eat. The only complaint is that it doesn't have as much protein as some other high-quality dog foods.
My dogs love all Natural Balance treats. These are great size, a little more expensive than other brands but higher quality. You can get these at Petco and many local stores. The only problem I have is my dogs can sometimes get gassy with the sweet potato - Natural Balance tends to use this ingredient a lot in their formulas so I have to make sure not to give them too many sweet potato treats. :)
I can't praise Natural Balance products enough. I occasionally get these treats for my two large breed dogs and they love them. These are a little pricier than some other treats you'll find at the store, but they are good quality ingredients. I would definitely recommend.
