The Milk Makeup Cooling Water was one of the worst products I tried in 2018. Not only did this not cool, but after several days of use my eyes actually had a severe burning reaction. I couldn’t wear makeup for several days after the bad reaction to this product. Would not repurchase or recommend.
Wow! I am thoroughly impressed by the Kush High Volume Mascara from Milk Makeup. This mascara provides volume, lift, and length without being clumpy or giving spider lashes. The mascara feels lightweight and doesn’t smudge or budge even after hours of wear-time. Also, I love how this mascara darkens my lashes to create an even more impactful look. 10/10 would repurchase again.
The Joah Be My Everything Blush and Bronze was a delightful surprise at the drugstore. As a newer drug store brand, I haven’t tried much from this brand yet but I liked how this bronzer blended across the skin to provide a nice sunkissed look without appearing muddy or patchy.
The bronzer end is much more pigmented than the blush, but the blush is buildable. The bronzer is definitely deeper than some other drug store offerings from Physicians formula, but is still workable for those with pale skin.
TheBalm Hot Mama! blush is a cult classic blush that provides a beautiful peachy sheen to the cheeks. This is an amazing dupe for NARS’ most famous cult classic blush (Influenster flags the name as a bad word btw).
This provides a healthy flush that brings life to the cheeks without too much sparkle. The color is very buildable and will work on a wide variety of skin tones. Great for all skin types - even those with oily skin or those with large pores.
I am genuinely confused by the hype surrounding the Wet N Wild Photo Focus Foundation. This foundation is neither full coverage nor is it long lasting or particularly impactful in photos. While the foundation applies nicely with a brush or a sponge (when first applied) within 4 hours this foundation completely melts off my face no matter what primer, setting powder, or setting spray I use to set my face. As a result, I can only use this when I need to wear foundation for a blog photo because I look like a mess after 4 hours.
Additionally, the flowery scent of the product is repugnant and overwhelming upon initial application.
In terms of coverage, the foundation is medium at best. This does not cover blemishes and will wear away on oily skin.
The Sephora Collection The Perfectionist Airbrush Sponge was my holy grail sponge for quite some time due to the sponge’s shape and ability to blend out makeup without soaking up too much product. My only issue with this sponge was that it didn’t last as long as other sponges and it actually ripped in half while cleaning one day. Would pick up another sponge in the hopes that it lasts longer.
The Sephora Collection Holiday Sponge Sets are sponges that I look forward to purchasing each season because these are high quality and so inexpensive. The sets come with three sizes of sponges that make it great for blending out makeup across the face or in hard to reach spots under the eye. Will continue to repurchase these sets.
The Ecotools Perfecting Blender Duo is a decent alternative to other makeup sponges on the market. These sponges will blend out your base makeup to provide even coverage and a flawless finish. However, I prefer those made my realTechniques and Beauty Blender.
The Original Beauty Queen Pink Blender is the best sponge on the market. It is so soft and easy to blend out liquid and cream products. Very durable and long lasting.
None of the other sponges on the market are quite as good as this one, but the price for this sponge is far steeper than other comparable offerings. That being said, Beauty Blender does offer great holiday kits and deals.
