Review for wet n wild MegaLength Mascara - 4 days, 6 hours ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 1
wet n wild MegaLength Waterproof Mascara
Retail: $2.47

Perfect mascara for bottom lashes! It has a nice small brush that allows you to be precise. I have also worn this on occasions where I have cried and it is didn't run or flake everywhere.
I wouldn't recommend this as much for the top lashes because to be quite honest, it won't do much (which is why I took away a star), but it is great at getting those hard to reach lashes in the inner corner, that other mascara wands can’t get to and like I said, perfect for bottom lashes.
This is also a nice mascara to wear on my top and bottom lashes on those "no-makeup makeup days".
*Tip: Do you bottom lashes first. If you do your top lashes first and then the bottom, most people tend to tilt their chin/head down, causing the top lash mascara to transfer on the eye lid.

Pros:
Affordable
Small, precise brush/wand
Waterproof – doesn’t flake or smudge
Washes off easily with any makeup remover
Nice solid black

Cons:
Not great for top lashes, as it does not add more volume or length

Review for Garnier SkinActive 5-in-1 Miracle Skin Perfector Oil-Free BB Cream - 4 days, 7 hours ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 1
Garnier SkinActive 5-in-1 Miracle Skin Perfector Oil-Free BB Cream

Retail: $12.99

I seriously love this stuff for just an everyday fresh face. The only problem... they need a lighter shade or just MORE SHADES in general. The lightest shade is still WAY too dark on me and I hate that! I think they only have 2 shades; light/med & med/dark, and when I emailed them, they sounded like they have no intentions of making more colors. Because it is too light I have to mix it with my moisturizer or add white mixer to it, which I don’t like because it changes the formula or takes away the coverage. The pigment in this product is so good it could be worn as foundation, especially when applied with a brush. It covers up acne and hyperpigmentation awesomely. I feel like this is just straight up pigment, which seems crazy for a BB cream.
This is a very thin formula, but like I said it packs on the pigment. If you want to lighten the coverage you can apply it with your hands like you would a primer. Sheering it out like this will also help it to match more skin tones.
I used this when I had SUPER oily skin and I will say it made me quite shiny but now that I am on Accutane my skin is dry and it looks perfect - very skin like. It sinks into the skin and it doesn’t sit on top. It carries 2 FL OZ, which is double the size of a foundation and is the same price. Does it live up to its claims?
1. Controls shine – I wouldn’t say this. Felt like it made my skin dewy and hydrated. This would suit people with normal-dry skin very well.
2. Minimizes pores – Not drastically, but minimally
3. Evens skin tone - Definitely
4. Hydrates – Yes
5. Protects – SPF 15 or 20 I believe, so yes

Pros:
A little goes a long way
Holy Pigment! – Could be worn as a foundation
Very thin and lightweight
Blends super easily and quickly
You get 2 Fl oz. – Double the size of a normal foundation, BB Cream or Primer
Affordable
Leaves a healthy, skin-like glow
Can sheer it out or use a brush to build it up

Cons:
Wouldn’t say it controls oils and may be too dewy for super oily skin

Review for American Crew Pomade - 4 days, 7 hours ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 1
American Crew Pomade
Retail: $11.50

This product was actually my husbands, but I tried it on my bangs to help shape them and to keep fly-aways subdued and I love it. It does a good job at keeping your hairs in place. A little goes a long way. It has a light waxy feel that is not too sticky or heavy. My husband loves this product because it is easy for him to use. This is a win-win product in our household.

Pros:
A little bit goes a long way - Product will last a long time before you run out
Not too sticky or heavy
Easy to use
Flexible – not hardening/crunchy hair
Adds a sleekness and shine to the hair

Cons:
I think this is obvious and not necessarily a con, but it will leave a tackiness on your hands, so they need to be washed after.

Review for Sally Hansen® Insta dry Top Coat - 4 days, 7 hours ago
Sally Hansen® Insta dry Top Coat
Retail: $6.99

I really like this Insta dry Top Coat from Sally Hansen. I love painting my nails at home but hate the dry down time, where you feel like you cannot do anything for 2 hours. I use one layer of this top coat and I am free to do whatever I want in about 60 seconds! It is awesome. I also love that this brand is affordable and easy to get a hold of.
I use the Sally Hansen Hard as Nails base coat, along with 2 coats of my favorite polish and my nails last about 4-6 days before any signs of chipping, and a little over a week before the real wear and tear begins. If you paint your nails regularly then you know that is a pretty good wear time. Obviously, I’d love more time, but I’ll take what I can get. It’s better than the 2nd day nail chipping. Give this product a try!

• Note – you still need to allow at least 2 mins of dry down time between each layer (Basecoat, polish layer 1, polish layer 2, Top coat)

Pros:
Affordable
Allows you to live your life shortly after you paint your nails
Accessible – Kind find at almost any drug store

Cons:
Don’t really have any – it does what it says, just follow the directions and use thin layers of everything.

Review for L'Oréal Paris Elvive Total Repair 5 Rapid Reviver Deep Conditioner - 4 days, 7 hours ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 1
L'Oréal Paris Elvive Total Repair 5 Rapid Reviver Deep Conditioner
Retail: $4.99
I have been using the Loreal Elvive Balm (not this mask) for Months and it has become my holy grail (I no longer use regular condition and just use the balm since I only wash my hair 2-3 times a week), which is why I was so excited when I received this product free to try from Influenster. Its basically supposed to be the same thing, but with no wait time. (This takes 60 second, while the other is about 3 mins)
This product claims to be a 'no waiting' mask, but then says it takes 60 second. This of course is not bad, but quite contradicting. This product smells very nice, very similar to the balm; not too over powering. My problem with this mask is that it is just average. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing life changing. I have long, thick hair and find that I am using a lot to condition my hair, which means I will get about 6-8 uses before I run out.
Although the balm version of Elvive Mask requires me to wait an extra 2 minutes I am okay with that because it does a better job and lasts me a few months before I run out. I'll just stick with my Elvive Balm Mask in the future, but I appreciate the effort Loreal.

Pros:
Affordable
Pleasant, non-overwhelming scent
Mask that only takes 60 seconds

Cons:
Claims to be a “no waiting” mask, but then says to leave on for 60 seconds
You have to use a lot to spread it through your hair, so you go through it fast
Doesn’t leave hair feeling any better than a regular conditioner

Olay Fresh Effects S’wipe Out! Refreshing Make-up Removal Cloths
Retail: $3.74
While I enjoyed the exfoliation of the wipes, these did not remove makeup as easily as I would have hoped. These wipes tend to be on the dryer side, which causes tugging on the skin and takes longer to remove all of the makeup. All the excess tugging and scrubbing puts excess strain and irritation on the skin and can lead to more wrinkles. I prefer to be as delicate with my skin as possible.
I would not repurchase these wipes again. If you are looking for a gentle, hydrating and awesome makeup removing wipe, try the Neutrogena Calming Night Wipes in the purple package (you can find this review on my profile).

Pros:
Affordable
Exfoliating
Fresh Scent

Cons:
Dry, causing excessive tugging on the skin
Does not remove makeup as well or quickly as other wipes

Review for Physicians Formula The Healthy Foundation SPF 20 - 4 days, 7 hours ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 1
Review for: LC1 more...
Physicians Formula The Healthy Foundation SPF 20
Retail: $12.99

This foundation makes for an easy, everyday wear. It is medium coverage, leaning almost to light coverage and has a dewy glow finish. This foundation dries down tacky, so you would have to set it with a powder if you want to blend other products over top or keep it from transferring. While it is tacky it is not slippery, which I like. And even when applying powder over top the glow comes through to give you a healthy finish. I like this foundation for no-makeup makeup days. It is light weight and has a thinner consistency, make it very easy to blend and it truly looks like my skin, but better. Very skin-like.
This foundation is rather expensive for the drug store costing around $12-14. This product also does not have enough coverage to conceal blemish or any other skin issues (fine for me as I wear it as an ‘everyday’ foundation). It almost doesn’t even have enough to cover my redness from my sensitive skin. And lastly, the color range is a lot better for Physicians Formula, but still poor in the overall scheme. LC1 is the lightest shade and it boarders a little too dark and a little too pink (seems to oxidize more pink over time).
Overall I enjoy this foundation and have already repurchased another bottle. I am thinking I might need to buy the lightest warm tone shade (Lw2 I believe) to help me get a better color match. They do have some neutral shades but they are too dark for my skin tone. This foundation would be my favorite for everyday wear if I could get a perfect shade match.

Pros:
Healthy, skin-like finish
Lightweight
Easy to blend but not ‘slippery’
Less expensive than high-end foundation, but preforms similarly
Quality packing
Has SPF 20

Cons:
Expensive for the drug store
Poor shade range
Oxidizes - and is kind of slow at doing so
Very tacky, needs to be set with a powder
Not a fan of the doe foot applicator as I must dip in a lot to cover my face. It’s fun, but not practical. I also feel like its unsanitary, even though we do this with most of our concealers - I guess it is not much different but feels different. I would rather see a pump.

Review for Garnier SkinActive Micellar Foaming Cleanser - 4 days, 7 hours ago
Garnier SkinActive Micellar Foaming Cleanser
Retail: $12

Is this a foaming cleanser? I wouldn’t say that. Does it remove makeup? Yes!
I use this cleanser every day in the shower to help remove my makeup and it does a WONDERFUL job, even waterproof mascara, which is all that I wear. I can’t recall that it leaves a film on my skin, but I also double cleanse. I use this to take off my makeup and then follow it with my Hydrating Cerve cleanser, just to bring some moisture back to my skin (I have dry skin) and remove anything else that may be lingering. I prefer to use 2 pumps to really help it get all over my skin. Like I said, I wouldn’t call this a foaming cleaner. It’s hard to describe, almost gel like, but nonetheless it removes makeup easily. I don’t feel like it strips my skin and doesn’t burn/sting or cause excess redness. I have very sensitive skin and this does not irritate it. I have bought this repeatedly and don’t see myself switching anytime soon.

Pros:
Removes makeup easily (even waterproof)
Affordable
No strong scent
Good on sensitive skin
Not stripping or overly drying

Cons:
Doesn’t spread super easily, which is why I like 2 pumps.
Not a foam, as described

Review for Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder - 4 days, 7 hours ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 1
Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder
$5.99

Before Accutane, when I had the world oiliest skin and was living in Florida, this powder (along with Loreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation) was my SAVING GRACE! Nothing else worked at controlling my oils. By the end of the day my face would be so oily that I’d look wet, like I just stuck my head in a bucket of water or was sweating profusely. UNTIL I found Coty Airspun. I would bake with it on my t-zone and when I was done my pores looked much less noticeable and my makeup would last through the day. Now here is the down side – now that I have completed Accutane and I no longer produce oil (like none, I’ve been off for about 6 months and still nothing), this product tends to be too drying for me. I still use it but no longer bake with it, or any powder for that matter, but just lightly dust my face with it on the spots that are too tacky to blend my other face products on top of. Apply a setting spray on top to help everything melt into your skin.

Moral of the story, great for oily skin. A little too drying for normal-dry skin.

Pros:
Helps manage oils for oily skin
Affordable
Large quantity – will last a long time.
Great for baking on your skin

Cons:
Very fragranced – and not a great scent, very musky, like your grandma.
Can be drying on normal-to-dry skin types
A little too heavy for under the eyes
