Review for The Estée Edit by Estée Lauder Pore Vanishing Stick - 1 year, 2 months ago
I got this in a deluxe mini size initially using Sephora points. When I first opened it and swiped it on my hand, I thought it might be too slick to use in my t-zone area which is where I needed it the most. I used it in place of my primer because I didn't want a million layers of stuff on my face. The first two times I used it, when I applied my foundation, I got some pilling but that was because I was using too much of the pore vanishing stick. Way too much! I have found that on my combination skin, a little goes a long way and no longer get any pilling. Using this has really helped my pores not look so hideously noticeable. And it does not make my t-zone look like an oil slick despite my initial assumption. I know many people may not like using stick form skincare/cosmetics but I like the convenience of it. This was my first Estée Lauder product purchase when I ran out of my sample.
When I bought this I thought it was a foundation and it took me months to actually figure out it's a tinted moisturizer. Complexion Rescue seems to me to be on the more pigmented side when compared to other tinted moisturizers. I have combination skin so this works great on most of my face during all seasons. I do find that after a few hours, I need to use blotting papers or translucent powder in the t-zone. This is my "everyday" facial makeup.
I love that this is sulfate free and the smell is wonderful. This also left no white residue in my dark brown hair. But it's effectiveness is mediocre at best. It didn't do much in terms of soaking up excess oil or adding volume. Certainly not the worst dry shampoo out there but far from the best.
Review for Tatcha Aburatorigami Japanese Beauty Papers Duo - 1 year, 8 months ago
These are great blotting papers; big size and very effective. Added bonus of Tatcha's great packaging. Lost one star because these are super pricey.
Review for Skinfix Lip Repair Balm - 1 year, 8 months ago
I found this very helpful for my chapped lips and using before/after applying lipstick. Other reviewers found this pricey but for the ingredients and size of tube but I've seen less helpful lip balms that are much more costly. I left off one star because I tend to try to avoid petrolatum in lip products.
Review for e.l.f. Cosmetics Poreless Face Primer - 1 year, 8 months ago
I really wanted to like this; it would've been a great substitute for Benefit's POREfessional. I liked the packaging and the price. But it did nothing for my pores, smelled awful and I found this did nothing to improve application of my foundation.
Review for L.A. Colors Nail Polish Remover Pads - 1 year, 9 months ago
While this it's inexpensive and comes in nice scents, I haven't found these to be very effective. It also leave a greasy residue behind.
This polish set is excellent. It lasts much longer than more expensive polishes yet costs much less. It goes on opaque in just one coat. Highly recommend!
Review for Tatcha Polished Classic Rice Enzyme Powder - 1 year, 9 months ago
This is a gentle enough exfoliant that it does not exacerbate my sensitive, rosacea prone skin and leaves my face feeling clean and soft. Very little is needed which is good because this is very pricey. The packaging is lovely too.
Review for LATHER AHA Hand Creme with Evening Primrose - 1 year, 9 months ago
Every LATHER product I have tried, I love. I have sensitive skin which is especially dry right now. It is thick but not super thick- easy to spread. In the jar it has a pleasant smell but that wears off quickly once applied. Very effective for dry hands and feet. The tub is a large size and lasts a long time because you don't need excessive amounts. I use a cosmetic spatula to scoop it out. Love that it's cruelty free!
