High quality mixed nuts with the perfect mix of sweetness and saltiness. This week’s snack of the week was Emerald Salty Sweet Chocolate & Peanut Butter Nuts. I spotted them on sale at the grocery store this week and decided to give them a try. They come in a variety of flavors, but I was drawn to the chocolate peanut butter flavor. So tasty! I was bummed after I finished my bag because I went back to the grocery store and they were sold out from the big sale. I will have to make sure to pick up a couple of bags the next time they are in stock.
If you had the week I had with heartburn, you would understand why this is on the list of favorites this week. This week’s meals included a bit spice, some green peppers, a few onions and a few jalapeno peppers. Mix all of that together and I am going to end up with heartburn. I was running low on my usual Tums tablets, so when I went to the store for more and saw the Chewy Delights I decided to give them a try. Each chew is individually wrapped, and the instructions recommend taking 2-3 chews at a time. The taste reminded me of Starburst candy minus the gritty, chalky texture of the old school Tums tablets. The heartburn relief was fairly quick – no faster or slower than the tablet method.
The fridge at work is always stocked up with various flavors of La Croix Sparkling Water. I normally only drink filtered water during the day, but the La Croix Lime was calling my name so I decided to give in. Nothing says summertime like a sparkling water with a twist of lime!
If you came to my house and looked in my pantry, I can guarantee you would find a box of Blue Diamond Nut Thins. My go to flavor has always been “Hint of Sea Salt” because you can basically put anything on them without making them taste strange. My favorite toppings are hummus and peanut butter – separately of course. When I saw that Blue Diamond had a new Honey Cinnamon flavor I decided to give it a whirl. Love them! They have the usual crunchy texture you would expect with the perfect blend of honey cinnamon sweetness. The flavor reminds me of Golden Grahams cereal. Be careful though – these little snaps are quite addictive. FYI, they also have another new flavor – Honey Mustard (not really my thing, but just thought I would mention).
Breathe Right sent me some lavender scented nose strips in the mail recently. I don’t wear nose strips when I sleep unless I am feeling stuffed up. I was feeling stuffed up earlier in the week so I decided it was the perfect opportunity to try out one of my sample strips. I had never tried a nose strip that was scented so this was a new experience for me. I actually really enjoyed the scented strip. The lavender scent wasn’t overpowering and actually was quite calming. I am going to make sure to buy a box of these to have on hand for future stuffy nose nights.
I am not sure if Gluten Free Indigo Morning cereal is a new product offering from Kashi or if I have have been missing it on the cereal aisle. This cereal has a hint of sweetness and is crunchy and super yummy! In addition to the crunchy flakes, this cereal is also full of real blackberries and blueberries.
I will admit I was skeptical about how they would taste. In my experience with “diet” type foods, I am usually disappointed because they taste strangely fake with the artificial sweeteners that replace the bad stuff. These bars were delicious and actually tasted like a non-diet dessert treat. It reminded me of the Heath brand ice cream bars I used to eat as a kid. The Weight Watchers version is a bit smaller than what you would get with a “non-diet” bar, but how can you go wrong with less calories, fat and everything else. I highly recommend giving these a try even if you aren’t on a diet.
