I am a contradiction. I am a beauty product junkie, but I don't wear any makeup half of the time. I am a certified yoga instruction, but I have zero body coordination. I would spend 2 hours at the gym, but I also take elevator for one floor up. I love my dogs to death, but i'm also mad at them all the time. I am a lawyer, but I hate law profession. I see the worst case scenario in everything, but I'm always willing to believe the best. I believe in God, but I also sin daily. I eat either all meat, or all veggie - I never eat them together. I love rice, but I think all carbs should die. Did I mention I confuse myself? I always get lost in my own thoughts, like really lost in a bad way, not artsy kinda way.
I have super asian eyelashes, which means its short, straight and stubborn. I have always stuck to my shiseido eyelash curler because back in the days, not many brands made good eyelash curler. I got this curler on a whim when sephora was doing 20% off for VIBs, and i have never looked back. This is so much better than anything i have used before. it's hard to put a word on it or describe how it performs better, you just need to try it for yourself.
I got this palette a while ago when sephora was having 20% off for VIBs. I wasn't planning on buying it because i have never really been a big fan of Marc Jacob. But this gold packaging is just everything, so i had to get it. At first i wasn't very thrilled because there are a lot of cool tones in it that i dont really use. So i use a couple shades then put it away, until recently i was rotating my makeup collection thought i'd give it another go. Holy smoke, every single shadow is so pigmented, so easy to blend and just looks great even though i didn't like the color to begin with. Especially a couple shimmer shades are just so creamy and stays on my lid the whole day-i dont even need to use my finger to apply it.
I love using this in the winter mixed with other foundation. I give it 4 star for following reasons: it's not my perfect shade, i have medium skin with yellow undertone, my match on sephora is way too light for me even in the winter. Also, it stays very tacky on my skin like im always afraid it's not transfer onto my clothes, so i always mix it with some other more matte finish foundation. third, i really cant stand the smell!! what the heck is that smell, it smells like feet. I have to drench myself in setting sprays to cover the smell. Overall, i continue to use this despite all of it, that says a lot... It gives such a dewy finish and very hydrating throughout the day. It doesnt break on me or leave weird patches when i touch up on it.
This is probably one of the most moisturizing i have used. I dont use it everyday, but usually after long flights or all day outside, i always put it on to save my skin. This is a very heavy formula, so a little goes a long way. On regular days, i only use it around my nose because i have many dry patches and texture around my nose and undereye area. I dont know if it's just my mind working, but my makeup always goes on a little smoother the next day when i used this the night before.
This is my winter holy grail foundation! I have very dry skin, this foundation is so hydrating that it doesnt feel like anything on my skin. I use brush to apply this so i can get a fuller coverage. I can layer this multiple times, and it doesnt get cakey at all. It gives such a luminous and natural finish, that it doesnt even look like you have anything on. However, the only reason why this is only my winter holy grail is because their shade range. I use the darkest shade they have available, which is a perfect match for my winter skintone, but way too light for summer. I have medium skin with yellow undertone.
I would say this is very similar to Smashbox primer, but even better. The texture is thicker. I have very dry skin and a lot of dry patches and texture around my nose, which makes applying foundation and concealer very tricky sometime. Even with really good foundation, it tends to breakup and cling to my dry patches around my nose. I only use this primer around my nose area and under my eyes. It helps smooth out the texture and help foundation glue to my skin so much better. On the days that i feel i need extra help, i always use this one. Other more normal skin days, i would just use smashbox primer. but i think they are both really good.
Im not usually the person to use primer. Most of the time i use moisturizer as primer since i have dry skin, i dont really need any mattifying or shine control function of most of the primer. However, i do have dry patches and texture around my nose, which makes foundation application harder, I take a pea-size amount of this primer and just put it around my nose and under my eye, it helps my foundation and concealer go on so smoothly without breaking up! One tube of this has lasted me a really long time.
Do people really like this? Please tell me how you clean this baby cuz i can't get it cleaned!!!!!!
I got this as soon as it's available on sephora, i love the baby pink color, since i have pretty much collected all the BB sponges, why not add another color tot he collection. I used it once, then im trying to clean it the usual way using my BB bar soap. Holy cow!!! I think i almost half of the soap but still cant get some of the foundation out. It's driving me crazy! I hate seeing the unclean spots on my sponges, it grosses me out. I tried clean it a couple more time without even using it, but the foudation residue just did not want to come out. I am so disappointed, i definitely think not all colored BB are created equal!
I have tried pretty much every brand that has its own version of sponges, but nothing is quite like the beauty blender. its very bouncy and blends so much better, it doesnt soak up a lot of product and easier to clean. i dont always believe in high-end product, but in this sense, you do get what you paid for.
