M650 Cookie is warm neutral khaki color with a matte finish. Despite it's somewhat light appearance in the pan, it applies with a surprising depth and in terms of color payoff and pigmentation. ME654 Cauldron is a lustrous metallic bronze which is both versatile and flattering across a range of skintones. The finish is more shimmery than metallic. D410 Gold Nugget is twinkly golden yellow with a sparkly finish. I tend to find colors like this polarizing since they can be difficult to pull off but this was surprisingly flattering since the shade reads more gold than yellow and the diamond finish is actually on the subtle side with very fine particles rather than chunks of glitter. Based on the ones that I've tried I can say that Make Up For Ever Artist Color Shadows have excellent pigmentation and color payoff. These shadows have a soft creamy, blendable texture and provide buildable coverage from sheer to full on/opaque. These eyeshadows can be used with or without primer. I was able to get a solid 8 hours of wear sans primer without much in the way of creasing, fading or falloff. The matte finish definitely wore the best and the diamond finish had more falloff than the other two. And they took minimal effort to remove at the end of the day with a little micellar water which is also a positive. MUFE has really delivered with this product. The customizable palette format is practical as well as travel friendly. The expansive library of 121 shades gives consumers a wide range of choices especially one is in need of a specific color in a specific finish. This system offers so much in terms of versatility and flexibility and the packaging is eco-friendly. MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Color Eye Shadow
Lancer Eye Contour Lifting Cream has a really nice velvety consistency and no discernible fragrance. I didn't notice much of a difference at first but after using it for almost two weeks, my eye area has been well hydrated and looks smoother and brighter overall. Like all the other Lancer products I tried, a little goes a long way. A half pump is enough for both my eyes. It sinks in without feeling greasy and wears well under
I've always heard great things about the Polish and I know why now. The granules in the Polish are very fine and the light scent is relaxing. The exfoliating effect feels gentle yet effective at the same time. I'm always amazed by how smooth my face feels after using this and it works really well on skin congestion. I feel like it has gone a long way to increase my skin's radiance as well as banish blackheads and dry, peeling skin. I definitely believe in the power of exfoliation and I tend to favor chemical exfoliants but the results the Lancer Method provided have convinced me to integrate physical exfoliation back into my skincare routine on a more regular basis. I feel like it has worked even better than the home microdermabrasion device that I had been using.
Like the Polish, a little goes a long way with the Cleanse. I've used it after the Polish and it cleans my skin leaving it refreshed without any dryness or tightness. When used in combination with the Polish, my face always feels silky smooth. The Cleanse also works very well on it's own as a second cleanser.
The Nourish has a a clean, fresh scent and a lightweight, watery texture that absorbs readily with a skin balancing finish. I didn't really see any skin plumping effects but it does hydrate well and feels soothing on the skin. Because my skin is dry, I find the Nourish works better as a day cream than a night cream for me.
The Jane Iredale Pure & Simple Makeup Kit is packaged in an eco-friendly heavyweight cardboard box with a magnetic closure. The inside palette is set within a metallic casing. It includes a fan brush that can be folded out to apply foundation or folded up for blush application. It also includes a double ended eyeshadow applicator with foam tips. These are your standard palette type applicators that I really wouldn't use unless I really had to. It would've been nice if this had a mirror.
PurePressed Base Mineral FoundationTwo shades of the PurePressed Base Mineral Foundation are included in this kit: Warm Sienna and Golden Glow. These are both warm shades with a yellow undertone that provide SPF20. Warm Sienna is a little light for my complexion but it works well as an undereye concealer and eye primer. Golden Glow is a pretty good match for my skin. The oil-free formulation of this foundation offers up a sheer but buildable finish. You can get medium coverage if you layer it. I was a little apprehensive about trying a powder foundation since my skin is dry and doesn't like powder but I'm impressed with the natural looking semi-matte finish this provides without caking. Of course I also made sure my face was well moisturized and I applied a hydrating primer beforehand. We're also in the midst of summer right now. I'm not sure how this would fare during the colder months and to be honest I probably wouldn't go there. The broad spectrum sun protection and versatility are nice since this foundation can also easily can be used as a concealer and setting powder. PurePressed Blush The Mocha blush included in this kit is the type of tawny rose shade I happen to be quite attracted to. It's a finely milled formulation with a silky smooth texture. This blush is well pigmented with a matte finish and I found that a little goes a long way because I applied way too much the first time but at the same time I also discovered that it blends out easily. It wears well and lasts for hours. PurePressed Eye ShadowTwo shades of the PurePressed Eye Shadow are included in this kit: Oyster is creamy matte off-white that can be used as a base or to create a natural, subtle highlight on the eyes or the face. Supernova is a shimmery plummy taupe, the type of shade that is pretty much universally flattering. It can be used all over, in the crease or as eyeliner. These shadows are buttery smooth with a lovely satin finish. Impressively they do not crease or fade and have some serious lasting power. Just Kissed Lip and Cheek Stain The lip/cheek stain comes in the shade Forever Pink. It has a really nice hydrating formula both on the lips or cheeks. It provides a sheer wash of color that translates better on my cheeks than on my lips. This stain which has a lightweight feel showed up as a sheer cool pink on both my cheeks and lips. I don't mind the pink on my cheeks but lips are already naturally pink enough. I also didn't care for the scent which is cloyingly sweet and off putting.
This palette is a nice introduction to the Jane Iredale range but it's not a must have. It's convenient for taking on the go or travel and has components to create an entire makeup look. The colors are all pretty and wearable. I would say it's ideal for a natural daytime look. It's a good quality product that's easy to use and made with skin friendly natural ingredients.
This is a must for a clean tongue! I've used other tongue cleaners before but the bristles on this make it really effective in getting my tongue clean without engaging my sensitive gag reflex. I will never go back to a regular tongue scraper again.
I was already familiar with Lip Maestro since I currently have one in my rotation of lip products. This is liquid type lip color with a doe foot applicator and it is unscented which is both rare and welcome. The color itself is opaque and applies very smoothly and evenly. Just one coat gives full coverage. Lip Maestro has a matte finish that looks radiant rather than flat which is what I think sets it apart from other lip products. It really has an incredibly lightweight texture for a lip color with such excellent coverage and pigmentation. Lip Maestro truly has the feel of a luxury lip product.
Lip Maestro is comfortable to wear because it stays creamy and keeps your lips hydrated while you have it on. I'd say you can get about 4 hours of wear without any type of degradation. I haven't had any issues with feathering. Even though it is billed as long wearing, this lip product does and will transfer onto your cups, tissues or whatnot. But it will leave behind a less intense stain on your lips that is actually quite long wearing. With bold shades like these two, I actually prefer to apply the product and then blot it down with a tissue to tone down the intensity.
Full on bright reds aren't really my thing so I'm not that crazy about 400. It is a true red that really pops and if you have full lips and don't like to draw attention to them like me, it's the kind of color that you tend to avoid. I do like a good burgundy and 201 is a really good one. The shade has great depth and even though it looks a tad brown in the tube, it actually wears as more of a wine color and has a blue undertone. I wore out it to dinner with friends over the weekend and got a bunch of compliments. I definitely like it for evenings out and I look forward to wearing this lip color during the holiday season. For everyday wear, I'm sticking with 200 Terra which is a really flattering reddish brown shade.
I received two Lip Maestro in shades 400 and 201 for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
Sì Eau de Parfum Intense is a modern chypre fragrance that opens with Blackcurrant Nectar, Silky White Freesia and Vanilla Chypre Accord punctuated with fresh notes of Mandarin and Bergamot. This is a rich, warm and woodsy scent. The blackcurrant imparts a sense of brightness that keeps it from being too deep and enveloping. The scent is quite strong when initially sprayed but develops into a more suitable level on the skin. There must be something to the higher concentration of oil and the staying power as well as most fragrances tend to fade on me by the afternoon and this was still going strong into the evening. The original Sì is lighter and sweeter. I'm surprised by how much I like this as it as it does have a touch of musk which I'm normally not a fan of. And my husband likes it on me too. When you have a spouse/significant other, that is a viable factor to consider when choosing a scent. I would describe Sì Intense as sultry and feminine and it's perfect for the cooler months. I received a complimentary bottle of Si Eau de Parfum Intense in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
