I absolutely adore this palette. It makes a refreshing change from the usual holiday ambient edit releases, which were starting to get a bit stale and same-y in my opinion. This is a breath of fresh air; it's the same beautiful quality and light as air textured product as I have come to expect of hourglass but in shades of deeper rose, bronze, and honey. The highlighter is the same formula as last years metallic edit palette: intense, glossy, wet-looking. All in all I find this to be an easy, well thought out and beautifying edit. I'm very happy with it and can see myself finishing every pan, which doesn't happen very often!
I purchased this because the sales assistant said it looked different on everyone. On me, this is a very natural looking lipgloss that imparts shine to the lips but not a lot of colour. It has subtle shimmer in that helps make lips look plumper and polished. It feels comfortable on the lips (not too gloopy or sticky) and lasts for 3 hours on me with no eating or drinking. I like the formula but wish I'd gone for something that had a bit more colour so I didn't straight up see my natural lip through the gloss.
I can see why this product is rated three stars. It has really good and really bad points which leave me feeling somewhat torn overall.
Pro: the applicator allows for super easy liner application. The tip is slanted at the perfect angle to draw a crisp line for the most fabulous looking cat eye. It is just flexible enough to facilitate drawing with absurd ease, and the twist up mechanism means I don't have to wash a brush when I'm done.
Con: the formula. It is a medium-thick product that has to be twisted up and it dries out quickly in the applicator. When I try to apply straight after twisting the product up I get clumps of liner falling off my eye- the product doesn't sit on the lid and instead I get black speckles all over my face. The colour is patchy and uneven.
I can remedy this by twisting up product and taking off the drier formula on the back of my hand. I have to give a good five or so twists until I get the wetter formula out of the tube, spread it evenly onto the applicator and then attempt to line my eye. With this method I get a more even application and minimal fallout, and this is what I'll continue to do until I use the product up. I wouldn't repurchase though, as I feel a lot of product is wasted in getting a good application. It might take me longer to apply using a regular gel liner and brush, but I'll stick with that method unless benefit changes the formula of this in the future.
There are good quality, smooth-textured highlighters that give a wet looking sheen to the skin. They don't accentuate texture and give a healthy looking glow I associate with VS models. I own both shades (they looked different enough when I swatched in store) but in practice I don't think they give a distinctly different look on my face. Perhaps the shade difference would show up on paler skin tones enough to justify, but I feel owning both is a little redundant for me. Nevertheless I enjoy using and these build and blend beautifully- I think the formula is a solid hit!
I have this in the shade 'cake', which is a neutral gloss with small multi-coloured shimmer in it. The shimmer looked interesting which is what convinced me to pick this up, but it doesn't translate well to the lips. It feels comfortable and lasts for a couple of hours with no eating or drinking. I think it is really pretty and I'll finish it up, but it isn't special enough for me to want to repurchase.
I have this in the shade bronzed bell, which is an almost cool-toned light bronze shade on my medium tan skin. It has flecks of silver glitter in it. I like how easy it is to apply, I just swipe it on and pat a little to blend and pow! Maximum impact with minimal effort. I will say that I was hoping to get a warmer, mid tone bronze from this, so I’m keeping an eye out (and my fingers crossed) for stila to come out with something like that in the future
This is a beautiful peachy pink blush shot through with gold shimmer. It is subtle but has presence, and I find it wakes up my complexion and makes me look peppier than I feel! It is an easy one to reach for and goes with most all of my makeup looks (which tend to lean on the warm/neutral side).

Even the small travel size lasts me ages- I've had it over 6 months and haven't hit pan yet, though admittedly I don't use it daily!
I love this highlighter! I watched a Wayne Goss review ('THIS NEW HIGHLIGHTER IS EVERYTHING') and boy was he right. It is a stunning rose gold that melts into my medium-tan skin and gives a luminous almost glossy look to the skin. I'm so glad I own this, it is very pretty indeed.
