Review for 7th Heaven Strengthen Nail & Cuticle Finger Masques - 7 months, 2 weeks ago
These finger masks are OK. They're tricky to apply without help once you get down to the last few fingers, and they made my fingers prune-y and wrinkled from the excess moisture. On the upside, they did soften my cuticles very well; I was able to push my cuticles back and trim them much more easily than if I hadn't masked. They were a little more effective at softening than using cuticle oil. The scent is very slight and mild, a bit fruity - not as heavily scented as I expected from the description. I like products like this that force me to slow down and relax (the recommended time to wear these is 15 minutes), but I don't usually have that kind of time. I enjoyed trying these but I don't think I would purchase them, as the results aren't great enough to make the hassle worth it. I received these complimentary from Influenster. All opinions are my own.

Review for Buxom Full-On™ Lip Cream - 8 months ago
I just discovered these lip creams and wow! I have thin lips and appreciate any help with plumping I can get, and these do not disappoint. They have the signature tingling feeling, are hydrating, and wear for hours without feeling sticky. I love the shade Dolly for a your lips but better look, and White Russian is a great topper for other lipsticks. They are my new go to gloss.

Review for Kokie Nail Polish - 8 months, 1 week ago
I won't be buying this brand of nail polish again. On the upside, the color I tried (Socialite) was very opaque. With 2 coats of polish and a topcoat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri, this polish dried quickly and was the first time in a long time I didn't get a single ding in my polish before it dried. That's about all the positives. On the downside, the polish formula is incredibly drippy and runny, making it very difficult to run polish along the edges of each nail. It wanted to seep off the nails onto the surrounding cuticles and skin. It was very messy to apply, and I paint my nails weekly. I haven't had a messy manicure like this in years. By the 14 hour mark, I got my first chip in the polish, and by the 22 hour mark, 3 nails had significant chips. By the end of that night, I started finding chips of polish on my shirt. It was flaking off everywhere. While I like that it dried so nicely, this is pretty much unwearable for me and will be going into the donate bin.

Review for Philosophy philosophy hope in a jar foundation - 8 months, 1 week ago
This is my current favorite foundation. Shade 3 fair light is a perfect match for my fair (but not super-fair) skin and cool undertone. It feels very hydrating on my very dry skin and feels weightless like wearing nothing at all. It does not settle into my fine lines or pores, and has a slightly smoothing and blurring effect on my pores and skin texture. It wears very well over 9 hours, but does start to wear off around my nose and mouth at that point. It applies well with both a damp sponge and a brush, and can be sheer to light coverage in one layer or built up to medium coverage with a second layer. It never cakes up on my and does not cling to dry patches. I absolutely love it. I've been wearing it regularly for about 4 months now.

Review for Wet N Wild MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick - 8 months, 1 week ago
I have very dry lips with some fine lines forming around them (42 years old), and this is the first liquid lipstick that I can truly say I'm in love with. I've grabbed all of the colors and backups of Rebel Rose (my favorite - though Berry Recognize is up there). The applicator makes it easy to apply even with a slight overline on thin lips. The formula dries down completely, feels like wearing nothing at all - not sticky or tacky - and can survive an entire meal with little to no touch ups. When I do need to touch up, it layers up just fine and looks good as new. It does not accentuate lines in my lips, and I can wear it every day, all day long, without my lips getting dry or chapped throughout the week. This formula is straight up miraculous to me, and I've got lipsticks from many prestige brands. WnW Liquid Catsuit is my favorite now, even over KVD. I can't believe it's five bucks. So good!

Review for Spascriptions Pore Refining Aloe and Tea Tree Mask - 8 months, 1 week ago
I picked up what appears to be the same product under the name SpaWorks at TJMaxx today. I grabbed it for the tea tree ingredient and tried it for the first time tonight. It tingled a bit (which is rare for me), and my skin was very smooth after 15 minutes and pores look nice (though nothing miraculous occurred). The mask was a little awkward to wear as the mouth hole is pretty small and the flaps from the eye holes don't fold down very well. It also had quite a bit of excess product, so I wiped the mask around my neck area to get rid of the excess and it stayed in place fine at that point (fine enough to sit at the computer, anyway). It didn't blow me away but for the price ($5 for 5 masks), I'd consider buying it again.

This foundation worked well for me. Overall, I'd rate it a high B to B+. I wear this in the shade 15 Ivory, which is a tiny bit too dark for me. This foundation has a definitely dewy and luminous finish, looking almost oily at the end of the day on my face - which is very dry and almost never oily looking - so I don't think it would work very well for oily skin. While this product didn't accentuate my skin's texture and pores, it did not blur or hide them, either. I got medium coverage in one layer with very light settling into fine lines. This feel very lightweight for the amount of coverage, and after 9 hours of wear has a hydrating feel to it. The wear was very good after 9 hours (using primer and light setting powder with no touch-ups). There was very slight caking around my nose, which has dry patches, and a little bit of wear-off around the nose and mouth at the 9 hour mark, but quite minimal, especially for a foundation that doesn't make any very long wear claims. Overall I think this foundation feels exceptionally comfortable for dry skin and is a solid full work day performer. I've got a full review and wear test on my YouTube channel at geekoutofwater404.

This just didn't work out of me. I'm 42 years old and have the beginnings of some fine lines on my forehead and around my eyes. I don't have much to cover up - just a few sun spots - but I have very dry skin. I did a review and wear test of this foundation on my YouTube channel (geekoutofwater404) if you'd like to see the full details, but in a nutshell: I had a hard time blending this out with a brush. A damp sponge worked better, but didn't give as good of coverage. After 9 hours of wear, this foundation was wearing off significantly around my mouth. It sat strangely on my skin, particularly on the lower half of my cheeks, and by the end of the day, felt so very drying that my skin felt very itchy. I had to use 2 coats of product to get to medium coverage, and at such a high price point ($40+ for less than a third of an ounce of product, where a typical bottle of foundation contains 1 fluid ounce), it's just too expensive to use that much product for sub-par results. This foundation settled into my lines (which are not yet significant, so I think it would be worse if you're trying to wear this with deeper lines or wrinkles). On the upside, I really liked the finish of this foundation. It looks very similar on me to the Loreal Infallible Total Cover, which I like quite a bit more. So for the price, I will stick with the drugstore version. Teint Idole just doesn't live up to its claims. (That said, I do wonder if there is any formula similarity, since Loreal owns Lancome).

Review for NEW! Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Bi-phase Serum - 11 months, 1 week ago
As winter has set in, I have developed dry patches around my nostrils. I've tried every cream and balm, drugstore to high end. Nothing has helped. Foundation clinged to them and they were just awful. I used this Clarins Bi-phase Serum in conjunction with the Clarins Hydra-Essentiel cream every day, and by the 5th day, the dry patches were completely gone. It's nothing short of a miracle on my dry, flaky skin. This product has the same signature fragrance as other Clarins products (which I love) and wears well under makeup. I received these products complimentary from Influenster. All opinions are my own.

Review for NEW! Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Silky Cream - 11 months, 1 week ago
This is a fairly thick moisturizing cream that I used in combination with the Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Serum. It has a fragrance similar to other Clarins moisturizers - fresh and light. I worried that a cream this thick wouldn't wear well during the day under makeup, but I had no problems. It sinks into the skin quickly and was so moisturizing that even foundations that typically dry me out wore well. The combination of these two products cleared up flaky dry patches I had around my nose in 5 days. I've got dry skin with some fine lines, and these products worked great for me. I received them complimentary from Influenster in exchange for my honest review.
