I have a pair of these and Although I don't use them for running, they do compress. I believe they are 15-20mmHG. It all depends on what your needs are. That will then tell you the level of compression you should use. For example if you have tired achy leg and need to reduce swelling the lesser compression should be good for you. These are not my favorite ones do to the lighter compression. I like to use the 20-30mmHg (medical grade) for edema do to my spinal cord injury.
