Do these gel colors change the consistency of the icings? Are the gels better than the liquid?

They do not change the consistency unless you add a lot.. They are great for buttercreams!!

They do not change the consistency of the icing, but depending on the consistency of the icing you may need to add more or less of the coloring to reach the desired color outcome.

I agree the gels do not change the consistency of the icing at all. And I find that the gels are better than the liquid because you don't get that strong dye flavor at all.

Since I've discovered Wilton gel food color I don't use liquid colors ever. The gel hasn't changed the consistency of anything I've dyed, and I've used it on cake batter, icing, glazes, chocolate, bread dough, etc etc.

The Gels are less messy and it hasn't changed the consistency in the items I have made.
