I don't usually like flavored whiskies but this is a better than average expression. The honey taste is well integrated (not too cloying like the Evan Williams honey whiskey which is almost orangey) with a kick of spicey heat to balance the sweetness. The charred oak also comes through to remind you that is in fact a Bourbon base. It's great to sweeten up tea or sour juices -and blends easily into cold drinks which is hard with plain honey. It's the only honeyed American whiskey that I enjoy sipping alone though definitely over the rocks. I prefer the Dewars honey whisky which has a more complex flavor profile but that's harder to find (and not USA made if that matters to you).
Love American Honey whiskey and Wild Turkey does this one right. Not sickening sweet or weird after taste. Just a delicious honey whisky that goes nicely over rocks or in a cocktail.
