There's a lot of diversity at my local Whole Foods. Perhaps your experience is more related to your location or the management decisions of that particular store?

A company is represented not only by it's product but also by it's employees. My impression of the staff is primarily young preppy individuals full of life and conscious. Obviously, this is managements choice.
