I recently used WestJet as my airline for a flight to London. The flight had one stop, in Calgary, and then went straight to London. The planes for both flights were decent, and the baggage prices weren't too bad, but the lack of amenities really shocked me. On my 8 hour flight to London, there and back, meals were not complimentary. I had to purchase a $6 "meal" of hummus and pita chips because I was starving. The meals they offered were extremely expensive for a small amount of food. I felt like even though the flight was cheap, I was nickle and dimed the entire time. My friends took flights that were only a little bit more expensive, and got two meals as well as other amenities. The only thing I appreciated was the free movies and TV shows on their app, but even then the selection was small and only had the first season of many shows. I recommend spending the extra money on international flights, and getting better service.
