Westjet has been my go to airline for many years because of it's customer service and affordable fairs but that all changed after covid. Flights are delayed more than ever due to staffing issues or mechanical issues and prices have gone up. The positives are lots of routes offered, if you are a Westjet Credit card holder you get free bags, and first class/premium offers some nice alcohol choices complimentary.

WestJet is the worst airline. They refuse to accept pets if it is a “codeshare” flight. This policy makes no sense since the pet would have been accepted had the ticket been booked directly with them. For anyone that is unaware of what a codeshare share flight it, it is a flight booked with another airline that partners with a secondary airline for routes that they don’t directly fly. For example, I booked a flight with Delta out of the u.s (delta accepted my pet), and then delta threw me on this WestJet flight to get into Canada. (WestJet refused my pet on the exact same ticket). As most Americans do not live in a city where WestJet airline flies directly out of, this eliminates the majority of the American population from flying into Canada with their pets. This ridiculous corporate policy seems like an easy way to discriminate against Americans and their pets. Most other airlines gladly welcome pets. WestJet hates pets. This is 2025 WestJet, get with the times. I will never book with this disgusting airline in the future nor accept a codeshare flight when booking with Delta or other reputable airlines.

I booked my ticket with westjet during an offer and found amazing deal to fly to LA from Toronto without any layover. I had a smooth on air experience , however, the flight was delayed for quite a lot of time and I was at the airport waiting . I would totally recommend westjet to work on this . The crew was friendly, the wifi was complimentary, I would fly again :) can’t leave a negative rating due to slight inconvenience
