This step ladder did not require assembly, a huge plus. It is as sturdy as the product description promises. When folded closed, it is very thin, which is great for storing. With minimal effort, it unfolds for use and the weight makes it easy to move around. It's attractive (I bought "dark green" 3-step model). It locks in the open position when you step on the top step; great safety feature. It wasn't self-evident how to unlock it and this it not covered in the brief instruction sheet. I found a great customer video that showed that all you have to do it lift up the top shelf for the ladder to unlock and fold up. Just beautiful, user-friendly design for which I am grateful.
