I have nothing bad to say about Ulta. I shop there religiously. I will even buy simple items such as cotton pads, razors, nailpolish remover, etc there as it gets me points. I try to do this "basic stockup" during any 2-3x point bonus time since I've been a platinum member for years, it's just an easy way to get my rewards buying things I needed anyway. I think their pricing is competitive and I love the random sales they do on higher end makeup. I wish they gave samples like Sephora does. In all my years of being a platinum member and shopping there enough for people to know my name, I have only received samples at checkout one time. The one time I did, however, spurred me into a $75 Algenist purchase... So that being said, I recommend more samples at checkout, Ulta! Especially if the customer in question is dropping some serious change on that purchase!
I joined the reward program and was told that once I'm a platinum member the points I receive will never expire, I was also told if I didn't use them and let them grow I would have greater benefit. I gathered 2,159 points/$128.00 credit, I had health issues and didn't show anywhere for sometime. Finally better I go there to shop and find that I am no longer a Platinum member and worst no longer have credit. All the times I shopped there to have my points add up, I was never told they expire, I received emails a couple times a week and they never had it in the subject line points expire. Yesterday I looked at my old emails and in the middle of the advertising in small light print it did state they expire soon. I find the promoting of shopping there to gain points, putting off using them to gain more benefit misleading and fraudulent.
I totally give the store 5 stars because it has so many brands, so many wonderful products and it's just fun to walk around and see what new things I'll end up buying. However, I give about 3.5 stars to my particular location because the people aren't that knowledgeable on the products they sell or have in stock. I also don't like the general feeling that they target people who look like they'll spend more money. Whether I go in to buy a $10 mascara or $300 worth of product, I'd like to be treated kindly and not like garbage. Not everyone comes in every time wanting to shell out that much. I'd only do that maybe once every couple months. That being said, I really do love the options they have (I go back and forth between here, spear, macy's, Mac, etc) and I'll keep returning for more. Verdict: Must go see if you haven't!
one of my favorites, I love that you can not only get your makeup but you can get facial, eyelashes and even your hair done in this store. I love that you can use your coupons on the make of course I would love it more if you could use it on the prestige brands but I love to get my nyx or eyelashes and nail polish her as they always have coupons available. Again I like the fact that you can return open products because with makeup especially with the brands that you can not test its really hard to pick the right color. I had my first facial here in 2016 and I am hooked now, the price was resable under 40 dollars and they walked me through every step of the process and educated me on my skin and what I should be using. I would recommend this store to everyone even women just starting their make, skin or beauty makeovers.
Ulta is a great destination for all things beauty. The mix of high end and drugstore means one trip is all I need to get every essential on my list. I've always encountered employees that are knowledgeable and truly want to help, without being pushy salespeople. The store is merchandised very well, albeit a bit hard to navigate for people in walkers or wheelchairs as it's always jam-packed with fixtures, but the clearly divided sections make it a breeze to find what you're needing. The rewards system is easy to understand and although the points do expire, they build so easily and come in handy on those big hauls. Layering coupons with rewards and gift cards is never a hassle. Also, the birthday gifts are always awesome, good-quality products that I enjoy and get use out of. Ulta has a customer for life with me.
Ulta was my to go store to buy makeup and beauty products. What's nice about Ulta is that they have inexpensive brands and high end brands. So you can try a little bit of both worlds. However, I have noticed that they inflate the prices of items you can find on other retail stores. They have sale on "drugstore" makeup and those are nice, but are so expensive on regular price. Yes, that's thr concept of a SALE, but if an item is $25 regular price on Ulta and go to Target and find it on $15.99 regular price. Then when Ulta does a sale for the $25 item but that item is not discounted, they give you some sort of discount on another item for the same brand. You have to study your purchases on Ulta. Another thing I dislike is that a lot of items are not priced, you have to go to the register and ask for prices.
I get my hair cut and colored at the salon. I love my stylist. She's good at her job and nice. I love that I get points for the my salon experience. I love all of the deals they have like extra points and free stuff. The only negative issue I've ever had is when I ordered online once and the order got lost in the mail. Ulta was very accommodating. They were going to refund my order and then give me free next day shipping on the new order. The USPS messed it up and sent my order to a depot. I ended up getting two sets of the same order which in the long run is fine with me because it's all stuff that I'll use. Also, I find it annoying that I'll buy something on the slightly more expensive side and then two days later I'll get an email saying that brand is on sale or it has 5x points or something like that.
I thought I was dreaming but then she waxed my eyebrows and I realized I was in Heaven!! haha..... I have found my happy spot! I thought I was a child wondering around the toy store. Wow. I absolutely LOVE Ulta. They have every single brand of makeup and skincare that I love and use on a regular basis. I buy online regularly and always have a great experience. Their website is very user-friendly. For example, if an item is out of stock, you can sign up to get an email when it's restocked. I shop there so often that I am now a Platinum member meaning I receive even more rewards and coupons than usual. Amazing! Also, they constantly have great deals on various brands – designer and "drug store." They regularly put out coupons for 20% off your whole purchase,$5 off a $15 purchase, $3.50 off a $15 purchase, etc. Shout out to the standing Ulta locations in the Columns in Jackson, Tennessee, and Hundred Oaks in Nashville, Tennessee. Ulta is absolutely my one stop for beauty!
I like ulta a lot because you can get drugstore brands as well as high end brands all in one place. Also, there are usually good deals and they always send out ads in the mail. A lot of drugstore things are buy one get one 50% off which always entices me to try new things from brands I usually buy from like L'Oréal and maybelline. I like ulta because there are usually less people there than at sephora and isn't packed with teenagers trying to do a full face at the store unlike sephora. The samples I get with my online orders are also better than sephoras. With sephora, I usually get perfume samples or random foil packets of stuff I don't really want, but with ulta I have gotten samples of benefit porefessional and smashbox photo finish primers which are products I actually love
