It's a really great grocery store. It has a bunch of specialty items that you can't find in other stores. Worth making the trip if you are close to one.

It's similar to Whole Foods and Fresh Market, but more affordable. Most of my friends really love it for the "Two-Buck Chuck" which is apparently a Trader Joe's brand wine that costs merely $2 a bottle and is actually rather good? I have never been able to locate it though - I got a decent $4 bottle once.

A store where you can buy healthier food choices. Some products they have might surprise you but in a good way!

Trader Joe's market is an eclectic store, which brings many unique items to their customers at affordable prices. Such as wine from regions that are not as popular or known to Americans but just as good. If you stop in you will sure find something you lack. Do not let the fear of thinking it is a health store because not all items are healthy!!

Actually, Casey M is not entirely correct about Trader Joe's. They do not buy name brand foods and repackage it as their own. That would be illegal. What they do have is their own buyers who find products directly from the manufacturers at a much reduced cost (because no middleman is involved). As a rule, TJ's keeps the info about their business relationships hush hush. And Joe Oh's don't taste exactly like Cheerios. General Mills would have a big problem with TJ's re-branding their proprietary formula. Also, for some reason people think everything they sell is healthy and/or organic. That's not true either. What they do sell are products that tend to be on the healthier side of the scale, such as no high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors etc. However, some of their delicious things are very high in sodium. I used to work there and could go on all day about the place. I still love it. Many wonderful friends still work there so I shop there and visit with my old buds.

It is a grocery store that advertises itself as being greener more earth conscience than others. They buy other name brand foods in bulk and put their own name on it and can sell it at cheaper prices. For instance Cheerios are the same as Joe O's. They stay away from GMO's but it is because of the way they buy in bulk that they are unable to list all ingredients as such on their food.
