Prior to using these flakes for the fish in my aquarium, I was using another brand that had brightly colored flakes and the fished seemed to love it, but I noticed that with those flakes my tank water was getting cloudy after awhile despite feeding my fish the recommended amount of food. These flakes solved the problem. The first day, my fish were skeptical to eat the new flakes (these flakes API Tropical..) but quickly adapted to them. While the color of the flakes on the label on the canister aren't as vividly bright as the actual product, the flakes still were up to my expectations... Actuallythey exceeded my expectations. Fish love them, Tank water much clearer, = almost perfect THE SMELL: Now, there are a few reviews on here. I see about people saying that the flakes have a smell to them, and I do agree with them, but not to the extent they are reporting. The smell is hard to describe, but it isn't anything crazy to be concerned by. The smell will last on your fingers a few seconds until you wipe them clean but go away quickly. In comparison to the other flakes I used prior to this product, they were almost odorless, but like I said, the odor from these flakes is very subtle and goes away very quickly. I, too, was skeptical when I read reviews prior to my purchase about this. All in all I give it 4 out of 5 stars because of the slight odor, and also because the lid to the canister is sometimes hard to twist off, but the product itself is amazing and I highly recommend it.

My fish loved this they wouldn't eat any other fish food one I ran out of it I promise I'm not lying. I ordered this twice and am looking forward to ordering it more
