Rented April 2024 Phoenix, AZ. After standing in line for over an hour, waiting to talk to an agent to get the rental car, the agent lied. He asked me for my credit card to run a hold on my car in case it came back damaged, after returning the car, the charge would be taken off of my credit card. In reality, the agent had asked me if I wanted any of the extra insurances and I said no but after returning the car found out that he had charged me for them $516. And there is no customer service that you can contact and talk to. The car was already paid for, and I should have never given them a credit card! Their prices are cheaper because they rip you off. Be very careful if you rent from this company.

I ALSO agree, and will go to the ends of the Earth to make sure EVERYONE knows what a SCAM Thrifty is!!! Upon arriving for my rental ("Manager's Special"), the attendant took my credit card and ID for a rental that I reserved, checked in via text the day prior, ALL at $169... He ('Jay' at Portland Airport) handed me back my card and a receipt for $536. I ADDED NOTHING... He said the online reservation (THROUGH Thrifty Car Rental 's website, NO THIRD PARTY) was "just an estimate".... So, my car went from $169 to $536???? Yup! BUYER BEWARE!!!! When I questioned Jay, he became so upset, he ripped my receipt out of my hand, told me he is refusing to rent to me, and now three days later, they still have a hold on my card. Refused to let me speak to a manager, refused to tell me a manager's name, took my name and number and said they would call me.... NOTHING. This company is nothing but CROOKS!

Do Not Rent With Thrifty Waste Of Money & Time With No Insight Of A Possible Refund ! Not only do you have to pay for VIP service upon completion of purchase, but definitely Never travel from out of town expecting to have a rental on standby. As a former veteran this customer service has to be the worst ever displayed. Upon future rentals I will pay more money for the comfortability from other car rental agencies!
