What is Theophylline? Theophylline is an oral tablet that is classified as a bronchodilator. It helps to relax airways and make breathing easier in pets who suffer from multiple respiratory disorders. What are the benefits of Theophylline? Theophylline is given orally preferably at the same time(s) daily exactly as directed by your veterinarian. Possible Side Effects: Loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and nervousness have been reported but these symptoms usually disappear after Theophylline has been given for a while. Some pets can experience increased appetite, drinking, or urination, seizures, or abnormal heart rhythms. An allergic reaction is possible in pets who are hypersensitive to Theophylline. Other side effects are possible. Contact your veterinarian immediately if your pet is acting ill while taking Theophylline.
