Pat Barker writes a riveting book about women in the ancient times. Take the famous The Iliad and take the besieging of Troy and tell the story from a women's point of view. The main character paints a vivid picture of how her city was ransacked and she was made a slave for the mighty Achilles. I highly recommend it!
