Gritty texture, too harsh for the skin on my face. I like to use it as a body scrub or foot scrub in the shower. Does not lather very much.had a pale orange color and is easy to scoop out of the jar.

This was the very first product I've tried from The Better Skin Co. & having used it consistently for 6+ months now (1×Week/4×Month), I can confidently say that for my Combination/Dry/Acne Prone skin this is actually a terrific working exfoliant! It's highly effective & fast at getting rid of EVERY SINGLE dead skin cell, dry flake &/or rough patch from the face! Afterwards, my skin is ALWAYS super smooth & visible brighter looking! You DO have to be careful with this formula though, as the exfoliant itself can be very harsh if not used with the correct pressure! Too much pressure & it can hurt your skin & the skins barrier too, just from rubbing/exfoliating too hard! Soft pressure is enough to work it's magic & you don't need that much for each application, as it spreads out very nicely when adding a few drops of water/toner/essence in the beginning & during too! Adding more water, I use gentle light, upwards, circular motions! I find that using it this way, as an exfoliant, & not as a daily cleanser, has been highly effective for me! I usually just do each part of my face for no longer than 10-15 seconds, depending upon how my skin is acting on that particular day & stop before the minute mark!! It smells like oranges, but nothing crazy or weird, it's actually nothing that bothers me in the slightest! The formula is absolutely great, using natural ingredients & this product has lasted me all this time & is still just as effective! I do however rotate between this & my Watermelon Scrub from Purlisse(my absolute fav)! It's also VERY moisturizing but when you wash it off, your skin doesn't feel greasy or grimey! My skin looks & feels visibly smoother & brighter! I REALLY like this physical exfoliant & I am definitely repurchasing when finished! I definitely recommend this, but if you have many active breakouts, broken, damaged skin, or VERY sensitive skin, I would stay away from this particular product! Regarding post-acne breakouts-I found that this product is actually really great to use if I get any breakouts after my monthly cycle! Sometimes my face gets super dry, specially when I'm using Differen gel or Tretinoin, & my pimples will be dry & flaky! This takes those away so fast! I WOULD also patch test before using on the face!

This can be used as a cleanser, scrub and a mask. I love to use it as a scrub to buff all the dead skin away and then leave it on for a few minutes to help get rid of black heads! It leaves my skin fresh and radiant
