Super Pet CritterTrail Discovery Deluxe Habitat
First, this is one of the more spacious Crittertrails that was (formerly) on the market. I like it a lot more than their regular line, and unfortunately that means they priced it higher. But this makes a nice home base for a dwarf hamster, and has a little hub you can put them in while cleaning the cage. The cons to this cage is the door, unfortunately. All the hinges are plastic, and they are made cheaply. More often than not, they will break at the hinges, and the snap that holds it closed came broken already in one that I had purchased. The tunnels also are a little more tricky for any hamster that cannot make completely vertical climbs, and none of my guys were interested in navigating to the top on their own. If you find one on clearance, its worth it, but not full price.
Some cool and unique features, like the tunnel that goes to the tray up top - it can be used with the Burrowing Maze attachment, and my mice absolutely *love* that thing. Having the large easy-open door is great, too, but I wish there were a mechanism to keep it in the "open" position - I'm always dropping it on my wrists and narrowly missing a mouse's head. The middle level is fun because they can climb up on it from many different angles. Note that there is no space inside for a wheel, and that it's a bit deeper than the other CritterTrail cages, so it may not fit on a shelf that works for the others.
Had this for three months before it completely broke, the large window and the window above. Hamster got loose, upgraded to an aquarium - problem solved. I liked the design initially but this cage is too small and doesn't accommodate a larger wheel for Syrians. Good for temporary use.
I may have to try this little home for my baby hamster! he is so active and would love the more spacious environment
