Description

Stridex Maximum Pads have the highest level of acne-fighting medicine allowed (2% salicylic acid) without a prescription, and are recommended for cases of moderate acne. Maximum Pads contain effective skin cleansers that work to remove dirt, oil, sweat and other impurities from the surface of the skin, penetrate to unclog pores, and dissolve deep down oil. They even remove impurities that soaps and face washes leave behind…just look at the pad for proof. They also help prevent new pimples from forming. Each pad is specially textured for great cleansing with a great feel whether you want scrubbing or smooth, soft application.

All Stridex pad formulas are completely alcohol-free, so you get proven acne-fighting effectiveness without the skin-irritating burn. The drying, irritating effects of alcohol on skin are well understood…years ago Stridex determined that alcohol was unnecessary in its pad formulations. Typical acne pads can contain 25-40% alcohol…the resulting redness and irritation can be a bigger nuisance than the problem you are trying to solve.

Use after washing your face in the morning or during the day for a quick clean-up.

I use this product once a day, as a part of my night time skin care regimen. I work in the beauty world and got sick of buying expensive brand name things. I knew I wanted something with out benzoyl peroxide because I wanted to stop destroying my sheets and towels. I even went to the dermatologist and he wanted to prescribe more BP products... yuck. Over it. SO.... I knew, having used many other expensive acne treatment lines, that I wanted to switch to a 2% salicylic acid product.I AM SO IMPRESSED WITH THIS PRODUCT. I find it equally effective as say, a Murad acne serum, only lighter in texture and more affordable. It's alcohol free so I don't feel like my skin is drying out. The pads are nice and big and super soft. I read a few other reviews and people who complained about dryness are either using incorrectly or maybe not following with a balanced regimen after use. I also read that people said it left a "film" which they washed off, also incorrect use because the medication needs to stay on the skin to be effective. If you have sensitive skin or are prone to dryness you need to follow up with a sufficient moisturizer. Salacylic acid will make you sun sensitive so you need to use sunscreen during the day!!!After my first jar of these pads were gone I went to a drugstore that didn't carry this brand. In a moment of panic I purchased a different "otc" brand and thought, "how different could it be?" Yuck... they were so different. They were filled with alcohol that I could smell, the fragrance they used to cover the alcohol smell was super gross and the pad was like sandpaper. I IMMEDIATELY thought, "I NEED TO GO BACK TO THE STRIDEX ASAP!" So here I am, ordering two jars of Stridex right now so I can throw the other junk out.I cannot recommend this product enough!

Review for: Maximum Strength For In Each more...
I used to get very bad breakouts around my mouth and chin constantly and nothing seemed to help. I had tried so many expensive products to no avail, and eventually I just said "what the heck, I'll try Stridex pads." Certainly something so cheap couldn't help my skin, right? Wrong. I used these twice a day, every day for a couple weeks and my breakouts completely cleared up. I keep using them and though I occasionally get one pimple at a time here or there around my time of the month, I haven't gotten any massive breakouts since. This is the clearest my skin has been in my entire adult life. Thank you Stridex.

i have used these when my mom forced me to use them when my first pimple showed up at the ripe age of 12. well technically i’ve had acne before then but since puberty was approaching i used these as my first cleansing and acne product. even though it stung, it worked and kept my skin clean for the most part. it was better as a small child to wipe a soaked cotton pad all over my face than to make a mess in the bathroom trying to wash my face. oh the water that would’ve been everywhere. sometimes i still use these if i get lazy but need treatment. thanks for being my first love (in acne care).

For my oily, cystic acne prone skin I found that these were gentle enough for everyday use. I didn’t find that they were harsh or drying, but I don’t know that they did much for my skin in terms of clearing breakouts but I felt like they might have been preventative. I’ve purchased twice but I won’t purchase again. I think I saw results not because of this specific product, but because I added an extra toning/cleansing step to my routine. My acne is cystic and I’ve found that my breakouts are caused by factors outside of my skin, so someone with non cystic acne might see better results!

These things are great! Normally I try to avoid single- use products, but I've been fighting a few bits of stubborn acne and wanted to amp up the fight. That's exactly what these did.

Having sensitive skin, I was a bit nervous about how it would react to strong chemicals, however I built up my use as advised and it works great! I am so happy with the results and will continue to use these.

I absolutely love these highly affordable BHA exfoliating pads! I have sensitive combination skin with some mild acne scarring so I wanted to incorporate a gentle BHA for a decent price to see if my skin would tolerate the 2% salicylic acid. Thankfully, these pads did not burn my skin whatsoever and truly allowed me to have a nice clean feeling while reducing my scarring. Would highly recommend!

These were so much better when I was in high school. They were my hail marry when it came to hormonal acne. Now I just use them when my hormonal acne gets out of control but I don't want a prescription for a stronger product. I also use them in the summer when I do lots of cardio to help prevent that weird upper back acne that cultivates under your sports bra.

Absolutely amazing! I’m a senior in College now and I’ve been using these since middle school because my dad used them when he was growing up. These strides pads just feel like they’re working. They’re great to keep in the car or around the house whenever my face feels disgusting, but I’m too lazy to do a true wash. Works great! Lasts a long time too!

I heard this really works, I'm afraid it'll be to harsh since it's a chemical toner. Would anyone recommend this if I only have a few pimples?

Do these NOT work for anyone? I've read SOOOO many good reviews for these over on the SkinCare Addiction sub on Reddit but I feel like they're doing nothing for my skin/making it worse! I've been using it for about a month 😬
