Hey guys! I’m reviewing the St. Ives Acne control Abricot scrub!
-
Damn, that’s a mouth full.

-
I’ve been using this once a week, for about 3 weeks, and i can say i’ve seen some improvement.

-
I use this once a week, because i have sensitive skin...
-
it has a sweet, yet subtle smell, and feels cooling on the skin. It does make my skin feel a little tight after but it did not burn, nor tingle.

-

my skin has cleared up a little, primarily getting rid of redness.
-
but my favorite thing about it, is that it smoothed my skin, getting rid of most of the bumps, while simultaneously getting rid of dead skin cells.
-
It’s an oil-free salicylic acid acne medication
(Anti-inflammatory used to treat acne, psoriasis, or warts!)
It’s also Paraben free, (which can clogs pores) and dermatologist tested. it contains 2.0% salicylic acid, btw.

It’s inactive ingredients include :
Water (Aqua), Juglans Regia (Walnut) Shell Powder, Glycol Stearate SE, Glycerin, Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, Zea Mays (Corn) Kernel Meal, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Cetearyl Alcohol, Triethanolamine, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Fruit Extract, Cetyl Acetate, Ceteareth-20, Carbomer, Polysorbate 60, Acetylated Lanolin Alcohol, Fragrance (Parfum), PPG-2 Methyl Ether, Phenethyl Alcohol, Methylisothiazolinone, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891).

This was my go-to product in my teens. It was cheap and as my Mom's skin care routine was a bar of soap in the shower, it seemed exotic! It came
in a plastic container and sat proudly on my counter.  I remember feeling like I was making a change, and my face always felt "fresh" after I used this product.  That's because it essentially was a fresh face.  As the
Altar boy who reveres the Priest, believing and trusting all he says at its face value, my opinion of this product and analysis of my skin was proved based on what I was told by others, and what the package claimed.  I was led astray and not only were the good layers of skin on my face scoured into nothing, so was my innocence  I still live with this blame. I do not know how I was unable to feel the jagged
rocks ripping and scraping my face open, allegedly searching for my pores.  I guess love, especially our first, not only blinds you but numbs the nerves in your face.  Even now, it's hard to admit this Apricot
Scrub, one of the top selling skin care products, was abusing my face!

I admit to being a skin care addict.  I do not agree it is a problem, it is a solution.  Exfoliation is a key to a good skin care regimen, and even after what  I went through, I
remain a fan of physical exfoliates, though I will always be a chemically produced sloughing girl at
heart. Sometimes at night when I close my eyes, surrounded by quiet, I still
feel this scrub on my face.  One day at a time. Right? I think at time that I miss it, and I wonder if I believe that I deserve the pain. A decade later and
I feel the scars (No, not actual scars on my face, in my mind).

Some of my pimples have shown strength and decided to pop back out again, this gives
me hope. Though lately I great their strength with a hydrocolloid bandage, and laugh as they too are swallowed the scene of the crime.  I guess the decade between my sandpaper nightmare was  enough time for these pimples to
gain strength,  or maybe they just forget. I never thought something like this could happen to me, but I tell you, be careful! Unless you dig the self-mutilation look.

P.S. I scored this a three because my feet need
a rough touch and this is the product for the job!

So I heard about this mist awhile back when a lot of youtubers where raving about it. I was a bit shocked because it was my first time hearing about this brand. So I decided to go to ulta an ask one of the ladies (such a nice person btw) and I asked her for good setting sprays she told me a bunch a very expensive setting sprays that I’ve already heard about. So then I told her I wanted something that was some what inexpensive but still worked great. She brought me around all the way to the skincare side of the store and showed me the Mario Badescu SkinCare Mist. And she told that she used this every single day and she could not go without it. She said it was ahhh a great setting spray but as well skincare mist. I super shocked but I decided to buy it and I used it over and over and became seriously in love. It gave my face such a natural and refreshed looked throughout the hours of makeup I had it on for. And it also because part of my skincare routine for that glowy and poreless look.

I have used this product on and off for about 5 years. It is a great quality exfoliator for the price you pay, it also comes with plenty of product. It smells great, but I'm not quite convinced it smells like apricots. The scent is there but is not overpowering as many other facial products are. It is very grainy and feels as you would expect an exfoliator to feel. The appearance of the product out of the tube is that it looks very natural. I have sensitive, acne-prone skin and it has never led to a breakout or harsh feeling on my face. Sometimes it will start to clear up my face, but sometimes it does not. Everything depends on how bad my breakout is, but it will definitely tame it.  I have combination skin, and it has never left, a dry or oily feeling to my face. I have an oily T-zone, and dry skin around my eyes which is weird, but this product controls the oily while keeping my face soft where it needs to do so. Which is so great because products like this are hard to find. I can definitely tell the difference between this, and the off-brand as much as I did not want to because of the price difference. It leaves your skin smelling great, and feeling soft, and clean. I would recommend this product to people who had medium to light breakout prone skin.

I have been using this product for about a month now and it has become one of my very favorite exfoliating scrubs I have ever used. I have combination acne prone skin. My forehead, skin in my eyebrows, and around my nose usually gets very flaky, while my chin, jawline and t-zone gets oily. I get the most acne on my chin, jawline, and t-zone, but I get some minor blemishes along my forehead.

The scrub has decreased my acne, and acne spots quite a bit the last month, my skin feels very soft, and whenever I use it my acne that I have at the time of using it shrinks half its size automatically.

I use this scrub twice to three times a week at most because it is pretty aggressive. I use it in the evening before bed, follow up with  Dickinson’s Enhanced Witch Hazel Hydrating Toner which I let soak into my face for 10-20 minutes. Then I use  POND's Facial Moisturizers Crema S on my forehead, cheeks, and nose, and  Burt's Bees Sensitive Daily Moisturizing Cream on my chin and jawline. I then cover my face in a thin layer of  Vaseline® Jelly Original to creative a barrier and hold the moisture in.

When I was first trying out this product I really wanted a good exfoliater. This product proved to meet my expectations, was very easy to use, and wasn’t very messy to use as some of my others have been. I purchase this product every 3/4 weeks, so very good use. I would say it definitely keeps my acne at bay because it used to be borderline cystic before I really got into skincare. The reason I only give it 4/5 stars is because although it exfoliates my skin well (I have oily/sensitive/normal skin type) I still feel like I need to use some other kind of product to complete my acne fighting routine. Overall I believe anyone looking for a deep clean every couple of days would really appreciate this product. Also don’t overuse as it may irritate or make skin dry.

St. Ives Acne Control Apricot Scrub It makes your skin feel re-freshed and clean. Its paraben and sulfate free.BUT on the back it says that: "Because excesive drying of the skin may occur, start with one application daily, then gradually increase to two or three times daily if needed or as directed by a doctor" and that's what i did, after using the product one time daily (at morning) for like 2 months i decided to start using it not only at morning but at night after removing my makeup and a few weeks later i noticed that my left cheek near my T-zone was looking SCALY🐍.I got scared off the bat and ever since, i have not used the scrub because i can't ruin my skin again after a year of healing it.All the hard work would be in vain.

ACNE SCARS AND BREAKOUT BEGONE!
So I tried this product 3 years ago and I use it everyday with no other product( meaning face wash). I just started using Mariobadsec Rose Water(toner). I have acne sensitive skin, oily, dairy hating skin. I meaning I use to have breakouts, acne scars and if my face don't like a product it will tell me in an hr. This stuff is amazing, some people cant not use it because of the Saclicyic acid, but my skin loves it. I can't use proactive, because of the different acid called Glyolic acid which my skin hates and will break out in puss filled pimples. I went to Ulta and they explained the different acids in acne products.

PS: You can use it on your back for acne to and make your blemishes smaller! PS: They did change the product ingredients around in Dec 2017( some are moved up and some down the list) I am assuming for new marketing purposes but so far my skin likes it still

I'm torn. I love this face wash so much. It really exfoliates well and gets all the junk off my face, BUT it has walnut shells. If you aren't aware, there is a lawsuit against st. ives because the walnut shells can cause microscopic tearing, which causes early onset wrinkles. I love this scrub so much, and after
reading many different opinions from different dermatologists, I've decided to use this product only when needed. If you would like to read more about the lawsuit I would google it.

I use this scrub every time I shower. It's great at cleaning and exfoliating my face and smells good too! There are little "beads" or whatever you want to call them, that help exfoliate the skin and remove dead skin and impurities. It feels like my face is getting worked on without being too rough. It washes off easily too. This helps out a lot with keeping my oily skin under control and preventing any potential acne flair ups! I will definitely keep using this as my primary face scrub!
