I played FF11 for more than a decade and when FF14 came out I gave it a chance because who doesn't love updated graphics? Well it is easy to learn and has a lot of customization and cute outfits(major draws) and it eventually developed a decent amount of end game content to keep me interested(Coil anyone?). However for some reason this game just does not hold the appeal to me that FF11 once did and I tend to play in 6 month cycles. I play for 6 then leave for 6 then come back for 6 and repeat. In terms of community you will hear people say they have a good community and you will hear people say they have a bad one. If you are looking for something more casual with a very friendly community I highly recommend GW2 if you are looking for something with a lot of character depth(you can play every single class on one character and really develop) then FF14 is for you. They have a lot of neat features like housing and what not and mounts and even a new expansion but overall the sub fee really turns you off. They charge a sub then charge fees to have extra retainers to store stuff and it just goes on and on. On top of that the PS4 version is much worse than PC because the PS4 simply cannot load as fast as custom PC. It never will be able to so sometimes when participating in certain events you will load slow or the monster will and you will not get credit for certain things. Overall the game is decent enough but I really think the era of sub fees and pay 2 play(buy the game) are over. They need to choose one or the other. This game does have the best crafting system of any MMO I have played to date though. It is my single biggest draw and when I left I was well in the 1% of the richest players across all servers.(I have a fair amount of experience and play time in this game)

Final Fantasy XIV is probably the most favorite game I've played and the best MMORPG game I've gotten my hands on. I've been playing for 3 and a half years now and have continued to play it non stop. With the Stormblood expansion coming out in the next few weeks to add a lot of new content, Final Fantasy XIV knows how to have a story driven game, lots of experienced players to help you out and an overall good community base, I've never gotten tired of playing it after all these years. I've made some great life long friends and have kept in touch with tons of people through this game, and on top of that it's a very fun game to play.

Words can't cover how amazing this game is. It's the most sophisticated mmorpg ive ever had the luck to play! Not only have they completely revamped the failed xiv but now they listen to customer demands and have totally turned the game around! The concept art, lore and world building is mindblowingly huge and wonderful. You can truly lose yourself in this one.
The pa4 version is extremely smooth and I prefer the controls on it more than the pc keyboard mouse combination.

My husband is obsessed with this game. He plays all the time with his brothers. To me it's a time sucker, but it brings him happiness. He says, "It's awesome! It's good because it never ends. There's always new things being added."
