Few spas accept the SPAFINDER card. Some spas listed claim that they had requested to be removed from the Spafinder site to not avail. Their gift store does not allow you to use the valid Spafinder gift card when checking out. An unpleasant experience all around. Very disappointing.

I like the idea of this website. However when put into practice I'd have to go to NYC in order to redeem my gift card. I live in centeal NJ and the trip to the city is an hour so it's a no for me. Not convenient.

I received gift cards for SpaFinder from my husband for a massage. I looked up locations near me for a massage and there were very few to choose from. When I tried to book one, it led to a dead-end website so I called the location and they never called back. I called another and the same thing happened. I called the SpaFinder for help. The woman on the phone was (in my opinion) rude and unhelpful. She insinuated that I didn't know how to use a computer as I was telling her that one of the locations led to a dead-end website when I went to book. Once I did find a spa (which was 30+ minutes from my home) I also asked if I needed to leave my credit card on file. She said that there should be a spot to redeem the gift card. There wasn't one. Again she insinuated that I didn't know what I was doing. When I asked what recourse I have if I am unable to book an appointment anywhere, she hung up on me. I was able to find a place but it is over 30 minutes from my home. They do require a credit card on file which I did not want to give. SpaFinder did not relax me. It gave me a headache. Many of the vendors listed as near me have no ratings or are not near me. They are in the city of Chicago which is really an hour away driving plus parking.
