I LOVE smashbox for their lipsticks and most recently, that wonderful photo finish primer! I was excited to purchase this because of my history using the aforementioned products. I purchased this foundation in 1.1 - fair-light with neutral undertones. The color is nearly spot on, but honestly, I should have gone with medium instead.  However, I read the reviews, i read the description, and i bought this product for its longevity and the fact that it is supposed to be a medium to full coverage, depending on how much you pack on. I pack it on using a Sephora foundation brush, and then blend it using a beauty blender. It blends...alright. I feel that I spend a LOT of extra time perfecting it, especially on my nose and around my nostrils. The thing that bothers me most is that I feel like its MAXIMUM medium coverage, if you layer it on pretty thick. I don't "warm it" before I apply, and it seems so sheer on my skin! Its true that this product does last a really, really long time, and it doesn't transfer - as long as you use an awesome setting powder and a great primer. Without primer and setting primer, expect this product to smudge quickly and make your face feel feel slick. Because of this, and the extra few pumps of the foundation I need for the coverage I desire, its not worth the price.

I go through a lot of foundations, for someone with nearly “flawless” skin as people say but if I stare at myself enough I notice flaws, but who doesn’t right? I wanted to change up my every day, rather than it being full coverage and nearly a glammed up look, I wanted someone more natural. I am only 19, and want to evolve with the makeup trends, but I wanted to get something very light to wear. I also started getting into majority of vegan and cruelty free products ever since my chemical burn accident with another product (review and pictures on my profile.) I wanted something more kind on my skin. I was browsing my local Sephora and there was a Sign “now in 40 shades and lower price.” I was really reading into this before I purchased it because I’m terrified of anything I have to put on my face, again due to the burn. Mind you, I have combination dry skin, so hydrating scares me off a bit for my skin type but I was like yeah I might as well because the rest of me needs some help. I originally picked up the 2.35 and it was nearly a perfect match but still too light, however and oddly enough when I moved up to the 3.02, it was perfect. I can honestly say I’ve dumped every other foundation I have purchased and am sticking to this one for a very long time. This is my new go to, every day, trustworthy foundation. It has not settled into any of my fine lines, it hasn’t made me shiny, and it hasn’t broke me out. It feels amazing, like I’m just applying a cream and the feeling disappears once it has set. This also gives no flash back, and it makes my skin look smooth! The pictures speak for themselves!

I LOVE THIS FOUNDATION!! The Smashbox foundation is definitely one of my go-to. I love how does foundation is so hydrating and long-lasting. The texture of it make is so much easier to apply. When I wear this, it doesn’t show any lines under my eyes or have dry patches around my acnes. I also like the fact that it I can just use my finger to apply it and it doesn’t look bad at all. Usually I will use a beautyblender to apply this foundation and I absolutely love the finish of. It gives a very natural glow to my skin and enough coverage for me to cover my acnes and redness. I would totally recommend this foundation to the people who are looking for a every day foundation. This foundation definitely have enough coverage for every day and it is also a buildable for a more higher coverage look. As a girl with very sensitive acne skin, this foundation is very easy to remove and does not give me any acne. I WOULD TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS FOUNDATION ANYONE OUT THERE!

I have incredibly dry skin and my face sweats constantly in the summer time. Before I bought this, I returned Urban Decays All Nighter Foundation and All Nighter Concealer because it is AWFUL for dry skin. Anyway, I exchanged those products for this one (retails $32 at Ulta) and WOW. What a difference! After using my smashbox redness primer I applied this foundation with a damp beauty blender and definitely, it is medium coverage. However, it is buildable as it claims to be! I applied about three layers to achieve full coverage and WOW. My face literally looked like it was airbrushed. I have NEVER seen a foundation work as well as this one does! Definitely found my holy grail foundation. Now, since yesterday was blistering hot (I'm talking 105+ degrees) I will say that it isn't super sweat proof. But I don't know if that's because of the powder I applied on top of this foundation or what. I was dripping sweat at work for sure so I don't want to hold it against this product because I did have to touch up yesterday. However, today is much cooler (SCruz weather, always changing) so I definitely see a much better change. I have lightly sweated throughout today and my foundation has not budged for six hours so far. So in love and will definitely be buying again. Also, this foundation comes with a free sample of their photo finish primer. Who doesn't love freebies?

Let me start by saying I'm over 40 have dry/ normal skin and if I do not prep my skin a certain way this foundation looks horrible. I gave it four stars because I finally found a way that looks good. The night before I was taking this back to sephora I figured I play with it one more time. So I moisturize with Neutrogena Hydro Boost, then I spritz my face with tarte Ready, Set, Radiant then applied foundation. If I use any other primer under this forget it. I am a dry mess that looks like all the life has been sucked out of my face. My suggestion if you want to try it get a sample from Sephora to see how you'll like it.

Do you like your skin to look like the effortlessly even, poreless models in small brand fashion ads? Then gorl, this is the foundation for you. Very few brands can claim a TRULY medium-buildable coverage, but this hits the nail on the head for me. It's not going to cover every  blemish 100% on it's own, but it really doesn't matter when the rest of your skin looks THIS smooth and even. I have combination skin and was initially put off by the fact that this was marketed as hydrating, but I've put it through 20 hour days with minimal blotting and it's held up exceptionally, while not accentuating the odd crusty spot. The number one selling point, imo, is how beautifully this photographs. I have yet to notice any flashback from the spf, it just looks like unattainbly even skin. Do it.

This is my HG foundation and I can't find anything negative to say about it. This has the most beautiful natural finish and it photographs beautifully, I often find that long wearing foundations are too matte and have a very heavy finish. It is not the case with this product. It gives you medium coverage, but you can definitely build it up with an extra pump.

I travel to Walt Disney World often (basically is like spending your day in a sauna!) and this is the only foundation I'll wear to look flawless in person and pictures all day long!

One thing to mention is that I do not like wearing this with the smashbox primer, I have optimal results with the benefit porefessional or the tatcha silk canvas primer.

I got this again after the price lowered to 36 bucks from 42 because I couldn't keep on buying it at that price, so I was glad the price went down, AND the shade range was expanded. I tried wearing 1.1 which I used to wear before the shades were expanded, now its darker on me. .5 suits me perfectly. This is not too sweatproof as i tend to sweat heavily on my forehead in my hot bathroom and left the sweaty areas patchy so I have to cover them with a bit of bronzer. This is probably preferred for less sweaty guys and gals. Also, leaves a sticky finish so setting/finishing powder is a must. My tarte shape tape concealer also eats away at it leaving an obvious line.

Wow!! Smashbox ya did it again! I received this as a free full size foundation Ulta Diamond Perk about a month ago. I was skeptical because I have very oily combo skin & this is a 'hydrating' foundation. Oily skin actually is desperate for hydration.. I have tried this three ways & found a way that works best for me.. The 1st time I used my 2 reg primers: Hourglass Veil Mineral all over & Tarte Timeless Smoothing on my tzone. That made the foundation EXTREMELY MATTE. Like more matte than any matte foundation I've ever used. I didn't even need to powder!! I normally need to bake my nose heavily, chin & forehead. This was like ghostly, flour face.. Next time I ditched the mattifying primers & used Laura Nercier Radiance Primer. It looked very nice- although I noticed I did need to powder- not as much as usual, but it wasn't flour face. I did have some of an issue with my oils coming through on my nose more than I'd like.. 3rd time- used the LM Radiance Primer all over except nose & TARTE TS on tzone. Let that soak in while I did my eyes. Applied with a flat top kabuki per usual ~ in sections~ & its the perfect combo for my skin! Oily skin NEEDS hydration & this foundation is probably the best foundation I've ever used. I'm 40+ & have used a lot of different prestige foundations. Great for all skin types!

To start off I am in the shade 2.12. I have had this problem of finding the right foundation for myself. I always end up getting a shade that’s either too dark or too light but nothing in the middle. I went to sephora to get help and the beauty guru helped me out. Apparently she saw what my issue was because she too thought I was darker then I appeared. I have an olive undertone with pink as well. This foundation was PERFECT. Perfect match, application, and wear. The oxidation wasn’t like anything I’ve seen. Even after 15 hours and sleeping in it, it was flawless. This is officially my go to foundation from here on out. I recommend this to everyone who wants a natural finish without the stress of it being gone and worn out by the end of the day. A happy medium foundation for a day at work and a night out.

Just bought this and looking forward to trying it out. Anyone find that this applies better with a particular applicator like blender or brush? Or that it works better with any particular products? Specific primers, setting powders, or concealers? Curious to know how everyone likes to use it best!

Is this really transfer proof? Does it last all day? I've read that it gets oily during the day.
