Smashbox Spotlight Palette
Review for: Gold more...
I've been wanting to try one of the Spotlight Palettes from Smashbox & Casey Holmes for a while and I've finally got one! It's very pigmented. It gives you that perfect glow but is build able if you want a more intense Highlight. You can get this at Sephora, Ulta and Smashbox's website. I definitely would recommend this for those who are more on the medium to dark skin toned side.
This is a great highlight palette! 🙌✨ I got the gold version -- great for my olive undertones. Can't wait to use this when I get a tan. The pigment is great, it's creamy, and stays in place all day. I like how they are build-able too -- and you can layer one on top of another for that extra pop.
My favorite highlighting palette! It gives such a natural glow and you can build it up if you want something more intense. It's very long lasting. It has just the right amount of shimmer. It's buttery and doesn't texturize your skin. I love it!
I really wanted to love this more than I do. I love the colors and I love the packaging, and I love Casey Holmes. But I just think it is a little chunky glittery and I like my highlighters to be more of a satin finish. It looks like it is just sitting on my face and doesn't melt into the skin. If you like glittery highlighters you'll love this; it just wasn't for me.
I purchased this palette because I'm a huge fan of Casey Holmes. It's a nice highlight palette especially for every day. The reason for the three stars is the darkest shade included in the palette. Holy moly at the glitter that will be all over your face if you use it. The first two colors are nice and what I usually wear daily, but don't use the third unless you like the glitter look.
I was so excited for this highlighter. Unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. The light one just shows up as light on my skin and does not give me a glow (light putting white eyeshadow on my cheeks) and the "Blow a Fuse" shade has a lot of chunky glitter which isn't suitable for every day. I only like the middle shade which I don't think makes it worth it.
Casey Holmes' "Spotlight" collaboration with Smashbox features two different palettes, Gold and Pearl. I personally have only tried the Pearl palette, but I intend on buying the Gold palette as well. All three shades in the Pearl palette are very pigmented. Two of the shades give you more of a sheen, while the third shade is very glittery and is considered a "topper".
SO OBSESSED with the Pearl palette. Even if you're not someone who is obsessed with highlight, "Turn It On Pearl" and "Crank It Up Pearl" are shades that offer a nice, soft glow, and I personally like to use "Blow a Fuse Pearl" as a topper on a daily basis, but if you're not into sparkle, you could always just use that on special occasions. If you're super fair like I am, Pearl is probably a better palette for you, but if you're more tan to deep I would recommend you go with the Gold palette.
Casey really out did herself with this colab! I have tried a ton of highlights and this one really impressed me. It goes on so smooth, the texture is perfect for my skin and the pigment is poppin! I use this in the inner corner of my eye and below my brow brown as well. If you're looking for an affordable highlight that really gives your skin a glow, try this one!
This is such a beautiful palette. I use it on my eyes and my cheeks. Depending on the day I either layer the look or use them separately. I've even put them over my lipstick to create a metallic lip look. I don't know how much it costs because my MUA friend gave it to me, but once this one goes, I'll be buying another. Hopefully it will still be available.
