Product Description

It's Samantha Baker's Sweet Sixteen and no one in her family remembers the important occasion. John Hughes, the writer of National Lampoon's Vacation, shows how coming-of-age can be full of surprises in this warm-hearted teenage comedy starring Molly Ringwald. She's your average teen, enduring creepy freshmen, spoiled siblings, confused parents and the Big Blonde on Campus who stands between her and the boy of her dreams. But wait...the day isn't over yet! This sparkling film features a dynamic score, and outstanding performances by Paul Dooley, Emmy® winner Blanche Baker and Oscar® nominee Justin Henry.

i love this movie. It's a classic 80's movie. Everyone forgets her 16th birthday. She has a crush on the handsome guy in high school. She thinks she is ugly and feels out of place. This is a good movie with a good story line. The actors are good in this.

"What's Happening Hot Stuff?"...This has to be hands down one of my all time favorite movies! I have watched it over and over again! It never gets old! Watching Sam deal with her feelings for Jake and having to try to avoid Farmer Ted makes for a hiliarous movie!

I watched this a few times and it was a cute movie for what it's worth. She gets the cute nice guy in the end. I think my favorite scene is the last scene . Molly Ringwald was in a lot of 80s movies I think Pretty in Pink is a little better but this one is good as well.

One of my favorite movies. I can quote almost the whole movie. It is such an stereotypical 80's hype movie and it delivers. It has everything you need: romance, comedy, suspense, confrontation, solutions, etc. It ends just the way everyone wants it too. If this is your first John Hughes movie please watch 16 Candles and love it then watch his other masterpieces and love them too.

What can you say other than that this movie is a classic. The Rat Pack in its prime time. Molly Ringwold is good and believable as a 16 year old whose birthday doesn't go quite right. Overall recommend

A cult classic and I love Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall. The story of a high school teen who is in love with the high school heart throb, definitely worth a watch if you've never seen it.

I grew up watching 16 Candles on Cable back in the day...This had to be the coolest movie about growing up and dealing with your uncool family! I mean really, who forgets a birthday? And Jake Ryan was so totally HOT!! The soundtrack was awesome, living Samantha Baker's life was bittersweet and dealing with Farmer Ted was enough to make me scream at the TV. I completely had empathy for Sam. This was the perfect coming of age movie, where Fairy Tales DO come true💘 If you have never seen 16 Candles, please go see this movie, it's so much fun. Especially with your BFF!!

Which John Hughes movie is your favorite? Are there any more recent films that so perfectly capture all the teen angst and clique drama of high school (maybe Mean Girls?)
