  • "I've beaten this game long time ago and it was the HD Collection on I really love how they fix things to fit it into the consoles today this is the kind of horror game you would play really late at night it'll get you thinking a lot and maybe make you think you're going insane in a good way, because the game may or may not play tricks on you." in 5 reviews

This game is phenomenal. I love the music, the voice acting and the story line. My favorite character is actually Vincent Smith :) The monsters are creepy, and I wouldn't recommend playing this at night. I did that once and highly regretted it!

I consider Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 to be the best games in the series, but most SH fans consider these to be the best. Also, wow, my case is super dusty - apologies to those who like pictures of the game disc.

Silent Hill 3 is a strong sequel to the first Silent Hill, you play as Heather, whose also Alessa. The story can be a little confusing to those who never got a chance to play the original, but it's still worth checking out on its own.

The environments are awesome - the amusement park, the hospital and the church are some of the scariest levels you will find in a Silent Hill game. The subplot in the hospital with Heather's admirer will be sure you're on edge the entire time.

This game also makes full use of the environments, never has an empty room been so

It's got several Easter eggs as well, I know there are people who stumbled into the mirror room on accident and are still wondering what the heck that was. I know people who refuse to play using anything but the HEATHER BEEEEAM. This is a game that manages to be terrifying and have a sense of humor.

The combat is still kind of clunky, but that's to be expected with a Silent Hill game. Thankfully, you're not stuck with the tank controls.

Check this one out if you're a fan of good survival horror - trust me, you won't regret it.

This game is my second favorite after Silent Hill 2, and encompasses all that is right about horror games. The creepy atmosphere of Silent Hill is present, meaning you are constantly on your guard but still manage to get a scare when you think you're on top of things. The graphics are great, just gritty enough so that you don't see every detail until it's too late and you're right on top of a monster. But this game isn't just hack and slash - like all of the early SH games, it's a psychological thriller that surprises you with the depth of its plot. I also thought the little 'extras' you could unlock like new weapons/costumes for Heather was fun, but didn't take away from the game since they were obtained after running through the game at least once.

Heather Mason is an excellent protagonist. She really grows as a character throughout the game. I really loved her at the end of this.
I will say that this is not as good as its predecessor. But SH3 definitely gives you your money's worth. It is a much longer game, with more variety and craziness than ever. Though it does sometimes suffer by its own longevity. I was most definitely scared for most of the game, and even screamed at one part.
But, be forewarned. This game is infinitely better if you have played and completed Silent Hill 2. It often makes jokes at it's older sibling's expense, which are awesome if you get them.
But this is still a great horror game with excellent visuals and scary atmosphere and a long run through.

I bought this game when it originally came out. But you should definitely check it out if you find it, even used.

I played all of the Silent Hill games. This one is by far my favorite. #1... The lead is Heather. Name WIN!The soundtrack is pretty amazing as well. The story is well done and the graphics give you a real sense of fear and terror going through the scenes. I still play it with the lights off, even though I know better.

There is a moment at the very end that gave me the creeps. It's not a movie scene or anything... but the environment. After betting the game I had to watch something on the other of the prospective, just to be able to sleep. (It was Card Captors... for the cheery cuteness)

Silent Hill has now become an over saturated brand with many bland and terrible games in it's belt, but Silent Hill 3 was one of the last games made by the original SH team. It takes place years after the original Silent Hill and follows the main protagonist Heather as she learns about her past and its connection to the frightening town of Silent Hill. The game is dark, thoughtful, and intense. You solve puzzles, and can choose to fight the evil creatures you see or run for your life. Go through haunting locations such as an abandoned subway, mall, hospital, and theme park. There are many different endings, and so many subtleties telling us about the SH lore making it enjoyable to play again and again.

This game is excellent in all ways pertaining to horror. And the soundtrack? Don't get me started on the soundtrack, it is just beautifully haunting. It stayed true to older installations of SH while also adding it's own little improvements. The graphics are great for its time. There's a lot of monsters and puzzles to get around in this game. The environments are definitely spooky. This game is definitely not for the faint of heart, because it definitely has its jump scare moments. I still highly recommend this game. No matter how many new games that come out in the future - I think everyone should come back and play the classics, the trailblazers! This is definitely one of those trailblazers!

The game is great. The monsters are annoying. Do not waste your time and ammo on them unless you HAVE to. The story line is not bad, but not my favorite. You play as a girl named Heather Mason whose destiny is to birth "the new God." Heather also has a connection with another character named Alessa from the first silent hill game. This game is kind of like a second story or continuation of the first silent hill game. This game is scary and fun. Try to buy the original not the remastered version.

Why did I wait so long to play this I'll never know, but thank god I finally did! This game takes everything that makes up a horror-survival game and makes it into a 4 star meal experience. Dark, intense, atmosphere along with unnerving creatures makes going through this a game quite the trip. You play as the main character Heather, a teenager who slowly gets taken into the world of Silent Hill on a path of vengeance for someone she loves dearly.

Great story telling, with disorientating but frightening gameplay. Silent Hill 3 is the epitome of nightmare inducing.

All in all, Silent Hill 3 is an excellent addition to the series. Its story is tied into the story of the first game and keeps a number of themes and locales from the second game well in focus. There's no remarkable new gameplay to speak of, so the game is clearly intended for fans of the series, who've been impressed over the years by Silent Hill's unusually dark and psychological style. This new game will be familiar to them in many ways, and the story, the characters, and the visuals add up to make Silent Hill 3 a worthy successor.
