4.80 / 5 based on 5 Reviews
The Sigma 35mm 1.4 DG HSM is a state of the art lens designed for full frame cameras but can also be used with APS-C sensors as well. The first addition to the Art category in Sigma's Global Vision, the 35mm 1.4 DG HSM includes new features based around a unique lens concept and design. The 35mm is a staple focal length in the world of photography, and paired with Sigma technology, this lens can take artistic expression to the next level. The lens is equipped with technology including a Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM), floating internal focusing system, SLD and FLD Glass elements. The HSM ensures quiet, high speed, accurate autofocusing while the floating focusing system allows for superior optical performance with subjects at a closer shooting distance. The SLD glass elements along with the FLD glass elements, which are equal to fluorite, help correct both axial and chromatic aberration. The large 1.4 aperture make it ideal in low light and the lens is compatible with the Sigma USB dock and Optimization Pro software to adjust and fine tune focusing parameters. The Sigma 35mm 1.4 DG HSM is a must have for any camera bag. USB Dock Compatibility Sigma has developed special software (SIGMA Optimization Pro) that can update the lens firmware and adjust parameters such as focus. *USB Dock is sold separately. Sigma 35mm f1.4 DG HSM Lens - Sigma Fit
Overall the Sigma Art 35mm is an incredible lens. For the past few months this has been my go-to lens. I think where it exceeds its competitors the most is it’s ability to work fast and capture incredibly sharp images even wide open at 1.4. This lens works well in all types of situations especially low light . Another reason it’s a personal favorite is its ability to work well in low light situations. Low light is one of my favorite types of light. I’m able to shoot wide open at 1.4 or close to wide open with my children, and focus is often spot on and sharp. The Sigma Art 35mm is by far my sharpest lens. With the 1.4 capabilities I can keep my ISO low and avoid grain in low light situations. Its shallow depth of field also beautifully isolates my subjects from the background.
I basically keep this lens on my Canon eos 5d Mark IV always. Its great for family shots as well as up close stock photography shots. I bring it to all my photography sessions and never really change it out because its that good. Its very similar to the canon 35 but a fraction of the cost.
LOVE this lens! It’s perfect for my documentary style. It produces extremely sharp images and allows me to shoot in pretty extreme low light situations. I’ve been very pleased with it!
If I could give more stars, I would. THIS is my favorite lens. It’s fast, crisp, and never ceases to amaze me.
I love this lens so much, its one of my favorites! It's one of my go to lenses for filming weddings.
