Is this essentially the kinky curly custard but harder to use? Is this worth the effort to warm up and soften?

Yes and it's very easy to fix the consistency when it's hard. Heat it in the microwave until warm then add water. Once you add water it fixes the consistency issue. Blend it in a food processor to make it silky smooth.

It’s worth the effort if you want a BANGIN a** twist out or braid out. Rub it really fast between your hands to “melt” it down. Don’t try to put it in the microwave

No....This is in no way shape or form custard. It doesn't soften when warmed up. It keeps its hardened gelatinous shape. Probably best for type 4 hair.

Not sure. I never tried this before especially since my hair is very thin and fine.

Its mainly for 4 type hair so if you don't have that i wouldn't use it
