Fried Cheese Sticks, of course! I know mozzarella is the usual, but really you can use any flavor and it tastes yum!
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cups Italian seasoned bread crumbs
preferred seasonings - to taste
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup cornstarch
1 quart oil for deep frying
12 cheese sticks
In a small bowl, mix the eggs.
Mix the bread crumbs and whatever extra seasonings you prefer in a medium bowl. In another medium bowl, blend the flour and cornstarch.
Put the cheese sticks in the beaten eggs, then one at a time coat each stick in the flour mixture. Dip back into the eggs then into the bread crumbs. Freeze on a cookie sheet for about an hour (this helps keep the cheese from leaking out while you're getting the breading nicely golden) Finally, heat the oil to 365 degrees (F) and fry cheese sticks until golden brown. Remove from heat and drain on paper towels.
