Massively, but real time GPS tracking takes battery

Not usually. I've run a full marathon with runKeeper going and only got to 50% battery after 5 hours. If you are streaming music on your runs, that is usually the culprit.

I do have this problem, especially after switching to the Iphone 5 from an iPhone 4. I try to make sure I have a full battery before going for a run, but that's not always possible!

Not at all! I've actually been surprised at how far/long i can run with music and the app on without it draining my battery. i have an iphone, and i turn my screen off when I'm not actively using it during the run.

I do. The phone can only perform as well as your cell signal will allow. If it has to work harder, you will drain your battery faster. Also, make sure all other apps are closed... even use a different device for music.

No, I don't. Maybe you're forgetting to toggle your GPS to off after you're done with your run?
