Terrifying and darkly comic, "Rosemary's Baby" marked the Hollywood debut of Roman Polanski ("Repulsion"). This wildly entertaining nightmare, faithfully adapted from Ira Levin's best seller, stars a revelatory Mia Farrow ("Hannah and Her Sisters") as a young mother-to-be who grows increasingly suspicious that her overfriendly elderly neighbors, played by Sidney Blackmer ("High Society") and an Oscar(R)-winning Ruth Gordon ("Harold and Maude"), and self-involved husband (actor and filmmaker John Cassavetes) are hatching a satanic plot against her and her baby. In the decades of occult cinema Polanski's ungodly masterpiece has spawned, it's never been outdone for sheer psychological terror. Im reviewing the book. Fyi. I love that even though this was written a few decades ago, the voice and the story is still relatable. It makes us feel unsafe in our normal lives. Bringing horror to our forefronts. Horror, suspense.
For any one looking to get seriously damaged by a movie, look no further. Rosemary's baby is not just an amazing horror film, but an amazing film all around. I still get shocked when i hear people say they haven't seen this classic! It has such great style and mystery. Seriously, its on netflix. Go watch it now!
One of my all time favorites. I love the way this movie was put together. I love the eeriness about it as well. I think the story itself is very intruiging and I'd like to read the book one day!
This is definitely a horror movie classic. Mia Farrow was perfect as Rosemary. This storyline a fast paced but still easy to follow and the ending had a nice more or less twist to it.
Such a creepy and freaky movie however it was put together well and its easy to catch your attention throughout the whole movie
Growing up I always heard the “scariness” of movie. Not scary but good! Loved the movie
