I would be absolutely lost without my Roku! As a college student I rely on Netflix and Hulu to binge shows or catch up on a latest episode because I don't have a dvr. I bought mine at Walmart for $35 after debating wether to get a chrome stick and I'm so happy with the choice I made! I enjoy that there is an app to use on your phone if you're like me and always losing your remote. With that said, you don't have to keep the app open or active the entire time to watch your shows because it is linked to your wifi. It is a one time purchase and there are plenty of free apps if you are not a Netflix or Hulu person (God forbid).
My husband and I love this thing. We have Netflix, Amazon Prime and also are able to view HBO and other cable channel shows on this thing. It is so nice to have such a compact item be able to do all these things. The only thing is that you be careful with that remote. If you lose it your world will crumble. We have had it for a few years now & it seems to be just starting to have issues. It stays very hot and it seems to lag or freeze up more often these days. I think it has been worth it either way and we would be happy to replace it with a newer version of the Roku.
This was a PAIN to set up for my grandparents. A con would be entering in your credit card, there isn't a way around that sadly, but we just got a prepaid card and used that because they think it's a big deal to enter in their credit card number. We just spent the card at the store. It's easy to plug in, and I would totally recommend if your TV is on the wall, that you have one of those things behind it where you can move your TV forward/back/left/right. Also the stick has to be plugged in.
This is a very affordable device that lets you play Netflix, YouTube, and Hulu right on your TV. It's great because it's pretty easy to use and easy to set up. I would definitely recommend this to people interested in purchasing this type of box. It's like Apple TV, but more affordable.
I love my roku. My not so smart tv is like a smart tv and I have my Netflix and Pandora on my tv now
Perfect for streaming Netflix and Hulu and doesn't give me any problems with connection.
I absolutely love my Roku, it's my favorite streaming device. I can access my netflix, youtube, Hulu, and other channels with ease. It's super convenient and easy to use. I like that it has various customization options, it makes using it more personal. loading speeds are pretty fast too! The Roku is such a neat little gadget, saves you a bunch of money by using this instead of Cable.
I'm absolutely in LOVE with my Roku player! It's so much nicer to watch Netflix & HBO Go on my large screen TV as opposed to on my little laptop screen. I use this more than I use my cable box & DVR. Very easy to set up & I love that I can use it to access many different channels (e.g. Netflix, Hulu, HBO Go, Pandora, etc). It takes up so little space & you barely notice it's there.
MAKE SURE you get the dual band capable device. found out the hard way that my roku wouldn't access the 5GHZ wifi frequency and that is the fastest wifi on your network. I love this product , small compact and not comber sum. They finally came out with a better remote , last one I wanted to chuck out the window in frustration because the buttons stuck or double clicked. This is a great model/
Is a series of digital media player models manufactured by Roku, Inc. These devices work by transmitting digital content through various channels. Each Roku device obtains the information of the content transmitted via a wired Internet connection or a Wifi access and through an audio cable, a video cable or both signals if an HDMI cable is used. The device can be connected to any TV (or other device) that has the appropriate connection inputs. There is a wide range of channels that transmit content to Roku. Some of these are free while others use a subscription scheme.
