Real Techniques Ultimate Base Set
- "Love the brushes and sponge! Work so great, awesome dupe for a beauty blender, I love the flat end, it’s great for baking your contour. They were very easy to use and affordable most importantly. I would for sure buy the brushes and sponges again!" in 87 reviews
the real techniques sponge is my go to for blending in my makeup. once i soak it in water, it applies my foundation so perfectly and does not make it look cakey whatsoever. it is definitely my holy grail sponge and it’s super cheap too!! the bigger foundation brush in this set, however, is not my favorite. it does not apply my makeup evenly and it gets very gross and moist after one use which is annoying. i love the eyeshadow brush. it is the perfect size and fluffiness for applying colors into my crease and blending out my eyes in general.
Overall, this is a good kit, especially if you are just starting off with makeup and you want to try using brushes. The foundation brush buffs in my foundation really nicely without leaving brush marks or making it look too cakey. The concealer brush blends my concealer very nicely and it's a good shape to get under my eyes. The sponge is similar to the beauty blender except it soaks up a bit more product and it a bit denser. This is a solid kit that also doesn't cost too much.
This collection is amazing rather than buying the sponge by itself you get the BEST of all three tools from RT. The expert face brush is the most affordable dupe to me for an in expensive foundation brush without breaking the bank, plus it’s great for beginners starting out in the makeup. The concealer is so tiny and perfect for getting right underneath your eyes for a flawless finish. :) if your going to buy one product from Real Techniques I recommend this.
I used to really love real techniques products, but that was until I started using Morphe brushes. They are at the same price point but I think for a larger variety and better quality of brushes. Real techniques I think get the make up job done but don’t add anything and with this set I felt the largest brush wasn’t great for powder and the sponge is too hard for me. The small brush is nice though. I would compare it to concealer brushes that I love from Morphe.
This is a great set and includes 3 of my favorite real techniques tools. It’s not only affordable but is great quality. The sponge is nice and not too hard and foundation seamlessly. The foundation brush is dense enough to blend out foundation and doesn’t suck up too much product. My favorite way to apply foundation is to first apply with a brush and then blend with the sponge to soften application. Then the smaller brush is excellent to blend out concealer. Highly recommend this set!
I LOVE real techniques, and this little set is the perfect combo. I have combination skin, so I like going back and forth between a brush and a beauty sponge, so this is perfect for me! The miracle complexion sponge is hands down my favorite beauty sponge. And the actual foundation brush is so easy to use and blend the foundation into the skin. And even not getting the set, the individual products are so inexpensive. I will continue to repurchase!
I own multiple different brands of facial brushes and this blending face brush is my FAVORITE! I use it for both my powder, liquid, and cream foundation and it blends all of them out smoothly and flawlessly! I also LOVE the concealer brush that it came with! Usually once i've blended out my foundation with the brush, ill go back with my damp real technique sponge to make sure everything is 100% flawless and it always looks amazing!
Everyone in the beauty world knows the Beauty Blender is a go to, however, Real Techniques has created a product that is very much comparable at a fraction of the cost. I've used both and actually prefer the real techniques. There are a few starter packs like this and they are all great - no worries about brushes that will fall apart or bristles falling out and the sponge is top notch, you will not be disappointed.
