The sensor in this does not work effectively and the clipping mechanism is too weak for bigger dogs. This professional groomer does NOT recommend guillotine style clippers. The guillotine motion of cutting can split your dog's nails up the center. Not to mention, you have to maneuver the nails into the small hole in order to cut them.. Every single one. If your dog is a little wiggly the nail can get caught up in the hole and make the whole ordeal a lot more traumatizing than necessary. Scissor style clippers are much safer and easier for all involved. If you're worried about the quick (the vein inside), Petsmart only charges 9 bucks to clip them for you professionally.

Great do the cats nails. When I use them I cut my cats nails from the side to keep them from splitting.

As a pet groomer I've heard MANY horror stories from clients that have used this. I had a client tell me that they used it and ended up hitting the bloodline and thought her poor dog was going to die because she was bleeding like crazy. The sensor doesn't work properly and it doesn't cut through thicker nails on larger breeds. With the money you spent on this thing you can go to your local grooming shop or even Petco, petsmart and have your dogs nails cut for a small price and not have to panic that you cut the bloodline of your pet.
