I love trying new recipes but sometimes had trouble finding the right ingredients so these sauce packets are awesome! All you need is the protein or veggies and cream if you want to add it. The sauce tastes really good and flavorful. The packet it comes in is very durable so the sauce stays fresh. I like that the ingredients are good and it’s not full of random chemicals. So easy and tasty!

I tried the Passage to India Butter Chicken Simmer Sauce after falling in love with the tikka masala sauce, and I was pleasantly surprised! The sauce is rich, creamy, and mildly spiced—perfect for my family, including the kids who aren’t big on heat. I used it with chicken and added a splash of cream as recommended, and it definitely made it feel more like restaurant-style butter chicken. Prep was super easy—just cook your meat, pour in the sauce, and simmer. It took around 20 minutes and made a quick weeknight dinner with some basmati rice. I really appreciated that it’s gluten-free, has no artificial colors or flavors, and is ready in under 30 minutes. The flavor is more on the sweet and creamy side than spicy, so if you’re looking for bold heat, this might be a bit too mild. But for a comforting, flavorful dish with minimal effort, this hits the spot. I’ll definitely be keeping a pouch or two in the pantry for quick dinners!

As much as I love Indian food, I hardly find the time to prepare Indian dishes from scratch. This ready-to-heat sauce looked promising, especially because of its decent ingredient list. Sadly, the sauce had an overpowering acidic tomato flavor, which I could not balance with ghee or water. No matter the amount of water added, there was no way to dilute the acidity of the paste. The recipe suggested adding 2 tablespoons of cream to the dish, but my nearest grocery store did not have any in stock. I doubt the 2 tablespoons would have made a difference, though. Also, the color of the sauce was red and not red-orange like the traditional butter chicken dish. I served the dish with rice and garlic naan. I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest review.
