I wanted to love this since I'd heard such great things, but my skin did not cooperate. I have combo skin, typically oilier on my cheeks, forehead, and nose but as it's winter and I've been a bit dehydrated, my dry patches are particularly sensitive. I thought this would help combat the redness left behind by itchy areas (that weren't pronounced, just irritated) with its brightening & restorative effect. I have been using a sunscreen like moisturizer with SPF in the mornings ( La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Moisturizer UV ) and a light-medium moisturizer that's gel like in the evenings ( ExfoliKate® Glow Moisturizer  ) and pairing it with my  Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil before I go to bed. Unfortunately, when I added this to my regimen, it appears that the product emphasized my dryness and all of a sudden I could feel and very visibly see the patches I was scratching more than usual. Since this was the only variable (aside from increasingly cold temperatures), I will have to return it for the time being and maybe check it out during the summer. On the bright side (ha!), I did enjoy the texture of the serum. It's kind of gel like in that it's light, but still sinks in and feels effective. The only other con is that if you don't rub it in quickly enough, it starts to get a tacky feeling, so definitely work this in fast so your skin can enjoy it!

A cult favorite, I finally got to try. I picked up this Vit C serum because it's SAP-based, and LAA always irritates my skin (plus the shelf life is annoying). This sank in quickly and wore well under my other AM skincare/makeup, and it gave me a nice glow. However, in the couple weeks I used it my skin became progressively more sensitized, and I started to experience redness, tiny irritation bumps, and burning. I use other products with plant extracts, plant oils, and/or light fragrance without issue, but my skin just didn’t like something specific in this- I suspect the fragrance or the citrus Limonene/ Linalool. It’s too bad, because this really did make my skin look nice at first.

I wanted to love this serum but, unfortunately, it leaves me wanting more. This has very little vitamin c in it and doesn't even list percentages for the aloe vera. I've used this on and off for the last year. I always receive a sample and want to give it a try again. I don't think i'll be doing that anymore. I always get some new breakouts the morning after i've had this on. It's probably due to the dimethicone in it. Not sure why a vitamin c serum would have dimethicone in it becausw it would make it sit on top of the skin instead of allowing the product ro be absorbed by the skin. Overall, this product was not effective for me  i saw no results, just new pimples. I would not recommend this product. It's a lot of money for a lot of nothing.

UPDATE: I've been using this serum for over a month and I cannot say enough good things about it. I really liked it, but not for the price so I was going back and forth about whether I should spend that kind of money or find a dupe. After a week of sampling some other serums, and seeing my skin lose some of its glow, I checked online. There are some "dupes" which are just similar vitamin c gels and serums, but the overall consensus is that this stuff is just magic. Basically...even if you have to skrimp and save...you should really buy this!! Mt .25 ounce bottle lasted me over a month...the one ounce bottle could potentially last me 5 months!!! $80 for 5 months is $16 a month on serum... c'mon! That's like buying a regular drug store serum!

I received a half size bottle in my Sephora Skin Wonderland kit and love it! It's silky smooth upon application and absorbs so quickly and fully that it feels like my skin is clean and has no product on it. I have noticed a huge difference with the tone of my skin as it's always been a little blotchy/red in some spots. I like to use it every day, but love it most after my Dr Dennis Gross 2 piece peel wipes. I feel like it penetrates extra well after a peel and I get all of the wonderful Vitamin C and other benefits. After less than a week of using I am visibly less red, even after scrubbing! So in love with this serum!

I got this as a reward from Sephora’s. I have some dark spots and acne scars that I would like taken care of. I was recommended this brand and looked into the truth serum as being one to help my exact issue. I redeemed two little bottles and it lasted me about a month and a half. It didn’t have a fragrance to it and I just applied it to my troubled areas. The serum did absorb well into my skin so I liked that. It also didn’t dry me out or cause me to break out (sensitive skin) I used it faithfully 2x a day and didn’t notice a difference :( I am thinking about trying again and I’ll see if maybe I got a bad batch.

I think this is a product you have to try to see if it works for you. My skin is normal to dry and I'm in my late 20s with some fine lines and acne scarring. I was hoping that a vitamin c serum combined with daily SPF 30 would help reduce the hyperpigmentation. This serum wasn't hydrating enough and I saw no if only minimal brightness to my skin but no fading of dark marks. No change in fine lines. I finished a large bottle and half of a sample size. So sad my skin doesn't like this. I was getting more pimples when using it so it's possible it broke me out but not totally sure. Maybe good for oily skin.

I am a HUGE fan of this product! I love the bright, citrusy smell that's reminiscent of Origins Ginzing line. It absorbs light, doesn't aggravate my acne, helps conceal my redness, definitely hides/minimizes dark spots. I've tried a number of others but between my super crazy sensitive skin that turns so red so easily and my skin's knack for breaking out despite being in my mid-late 30s, it's incredibly hard - and the very few that I have even remotely liked were far more expensive than this. I get this as my bonus product on Sephora every time I can - highly recommended!

I have been using truth serum for over two years. I’ve tried many other Vita C products and just nothing compares so far. It’s initially sticky, but dries super fast, and it a perfect base for whatever comes next.
At first I didn’t think it did much, but I went 3 days without using it and my skin looked dull and lifeless, so apparently it brightens, and I hope supports collagen turnover!

I would categorize this as a classic product. It will be around for a very long time because it’s so effective.

Also, it’s great for sensitive skin. And I have never, ever broken out for this product!

An associate gave me a small sample worth of 3 days use and considering how it wasn't a long time to see any effectiveness or results, I just seemed to love how my makeup sat on my face when I would apply this serum. I've heard many great reviews and the amazing benefits it gives so I've added it on my wish list of things to consider buying. Maybe till then I may stop by the store for another sample and try to test out for a week or so to see if it makes a difference before committing to a full bottle. Overall satisfied!

I don't think this product is as potent as other Vitamin C serums on the market (it has been out for a long time and is a bit dated of a product), but I do think it works. The brightening may not be dramatic, but it does provide some brightening over time as well as antioxidant protection and it helps protect against future damage. I also found it non-irritating and non-acnegenic.

Most distinctively, it smells good. It smells like orange candy actually which is far nicer than the natural smell of most other Vitamin C products on the market all of which I don't like wearing during the day lest the smell be offensive to those around me. This product smells so good that I have no qualms about using this during the day particularly layered under sunscreen. It is a bit drying on its own (after all, it is a serum) and is best layered under a moisturizer.

Do I need to get Ole Henriksen The Whole Truth set in order for this product to work or can I just use it on its own? I was wondering if that would be a better decision because I loved this serum, and I was able to sample it from a subscription box. My skin were flawless after just couple uses. Please let me know about your experience.

I really wanna try this product in 2016 because I don't have any serum and heard a lot about it because of the Vitamin C thing. I'd like to know if anyone whos is using and loving it has combi/oily skin and is under 25 years. I'm 19 and don't know if it's for me.
