- "These are so pigmented and long lasting love them may need to add a gloss but I love them" in 105 reviews
- "I LOVE LOVE LOVE OCC Lip Tars, they are all I need in my makeup kits and the only lip products I really keep. You can mix the colors to create new colors, they go on like a gloss and dry to a matte lipstick finish. They last for hours, and easily top with clear gloss for high shine. You need to apply these with a lip brush for the best results, a teeny tiny drop is really all you need and if you use too much you will have them feathering. They may seem pricey but a tube lasts a LONG time and if you are a MUA they are an awesome value! **In the photo strumpet is on the left and trollop on the right." in 37 reviews
As a recent convert to OCC Lip Tars for my go-to longwear lip product, it seemed only natural to purchase an on-trend black lippie from one of my new favorite cosmetic companies. I had heard the mixed reviews about this shade from beauty gurus all across the internet but needed to see it for myself. I'm going to say right now that this does not have the same hold as other lip tars. It also doesn't dry as quickly as the other colors in OCC's range. It's clearly been designed to be mixed easily with other shades to vamp up the color and make chic dark colors. That said, a good black lipliner or eyeliner underneath will give you black lips to die for, and a reasonable amount of wear if you aren't drinking or eating.
The pigmentation of the OCC lip tars are incredible. I have used several colors without disappointment. I purchased mine at a beauty trade show and the savings were great. The application is easy. I prefer to line the lips and fill them in before applying the lip tar, it gives the color a little more depth, depending on your liner shade. But understand...this product is so pigmented that you dont need a liner. If you are planning to use this product for a photoshoot, and you want to so lipchanges. You should have a natural oil to help break it down for easy removal, or use the liptar as your last lip look. This is a great product. You eont be disappointed.

Just like every other lip tar OCC has launched, this one is amazingly pigmented and lasts a long time. A little bit goes a long way with these, especially with the darker, more opaque shades. (You need about as much as the head of a bobby pin.) OCC describes their lip tars as a cross between a liquid lipstick and a gloss. When first applied, you are left with an amazing color impact as well as impeccable shine. The gloss fades away and rubs off after a couple hours of wear but once it does the color leaves and ever-so-vibrant stain which is virtually kiss proof. This particular shade has the tendency to feather more so than any of the other lip tars I own, but if used with a lipliner, that shouldn't be a problem. (Urban Decay just released a clear "shield' lipliner, which prevent any color lipstick from feathering.) The color is a little bit lighter then oxblood but not exactly your everyday glamour red. This is a really popular color for the fall and winter seasons, which is right around the corner ;)
I received the test tube as a sample in my birchbox and I immediately fell in love with the color and the way it looked on me. Sadly, it doesn't dry down which means it's transfers a lot. It looks extremely good on the lips once it's on but for me it didn't last more than a couple of hours after eating and drinking. I had to build it up to get it to be nice and opaque but since it never dried it kept getting on my teeth. If it dried down I think I would've invested in the full sized product and it would've been my favorite color to where when I go out.
Omg...how I adore these lip tars!! I had a pretty major collection of them in the tube set up. I always hated those dumb tubes so what I did was go to Amazon & ordered empty lip gloss tubes then filled them with my lip tar collection. One tube fills the larger lip gloss tube perfectly. As for my little sample sizes, I also ordered small lip gloss tubes and found that I could fill 2 of the gloss tubes from one sample size tar. It has made my entire collection wearable unlike it's ever been!!! Now I'm back to being in love with O.C.C.!!! Love the way that they release limited edition shades! That just makes them more collectible as far as I'm concerned. My new fave shade is Indrid!! It's a taupe/mauve shade unlike ANYTHING I've ever seen before!!! So gorgeous!!! They still last forever since you only need the tiniest amount to cover your lips so that they dry down. Still love these!!!
After much in-store deliberation over these, I finally broke down and bought one because it was my 21st birthday and I felt like it would be okay to treat myself. At first, the $18 price tag really punches you right in the wallet... and it hurts! But I had been wanting to try Lip Tar for a very long time and after trying on several, I decided on Hoochie, which is an amazing purple shade. I tried it on the second I left the store, to see how it held up, which it did very well! But I found that layering it over a thin layer of lip balm makes it stay even longer. I applied the smallest (but still - most opaque!) amount on the night of my birthday celebration and it stayed, through drinks and sleep! I woke up with no more Lip Tar, but fantastic "Hoochie" stained lips. This tube will last me at LEAST a month, even with every day use. I would 100% recommend and buy it again.
Great clearance buy at sephora. Shelf life is 12 month the product pigments is fantastic and long lasting . Cost me .49 cents original price $18 and is 100% vegan and cruelty free, lovely price lovely product for this girl

Ehh, this set is okay. I ordered it from Sephora because it was on sale. The three lip tar shades are beautiful, and the product itself is SO pigmented. You only need a little bit! I'm smitten with the "jealous" shade. I wear it over my Sephora Cream Lip Stain, and both colors hold all day, well in to the night. The "Little Black Dress" stain gloss is lack luster. I had hoped it would mix really well to darken the colors, but you'd need a lot for the tint to take effect. The downfall to the set is that the amount in the tubes is horribly inconsistent. The Hedonist (an intense pastel pink) tube included in the set was practically empty! I've had this problem before with full-sized OCC tubes, so I was disappointed (but not surprised). It's a great starter set if you've never used the OCC Lip Tars, get it while it's still on sale (Only $10 @Sephora!)

I ADORE this shade. I was immediately drawn to Strumpet when I first saw it and I still love it. They're high pigment glosses, so they look solid like lipstick , but keep in mind they will come off on things. My coffee lid had raspberry lip prints all up on the edge of it, but it's totally worth it. It goes on pretty dark and does tend to fade, or lighten as it comes off, but it's seriously not even a flaw. As the color wears and lightens, it's just progressing through an equally beautiful spectrum of lip color. Oh, and the picture looks kind of cartoony, but that's just because it's a screenshot of a selfie (I couldn't figure out how to crop. I'm new to mac. Whatever.)

If you are interested in liquid lipsticks, but can't do a matte finish, these are for you! Too Faced did their own take with the Melted lipsticks, but I prefer the texture of OCC. You only need a tiny amount to get full pigmentation, the product is easy to apply and comfortable to wear. It's also versatile! You can mix your own shades with other lip tars, and vary the finish of one, by blotting or applying to full gloss. Applied normally, these have a satin sheen. If you have wrinkles around the outside of your lips (not a problem I have), I've heard that these can travel outside the lip line, so you might want a liner.
