Obagi Medical Matte SPF 50 is a good option for oily and combination skin, but not without some nuances. It is truly matte and doesn’t clog pores, which is a huge plus for me since I have acne.
In terms of texture, it’s quite thick and feels a bit greasy on the skin during the first few minutes, especially if applied generously. There is a slight whitening effect (due to zinc oxide), but no strong “ghostly” appearance. After 10–15 absorption , it absorbs and the skin looks neat.
The packaging is simple and minimalistic. The scent is barely noticeable — neutral and non-irritating. I mostly use it in the city when I want serious protection without the risk of clogging pores.
This is by far the best sunscreen I have ever used!!! I have dry skin so i was a little skeptical based on the other review saying it was meant more for oily skin, but I ordered it anyway last month and I'm so glad I did. This stuff does not smell bad and is not oily like all the other sunscreens-- its feels like a totally different composition on your face, kinda like a light silky lotion. It spreads very evenly and I never feel like im wearing a super heavy duty suncreen, and a SPF 50 for that matter! if you have really dry skin I recommend using your fav moisturizer under this stuff.
I bought this in hopes to find a physical sunscreen that didn’t break me out and protected me well from the sun. This definitely is sooo protective and I have never burned with this even without reapplying. Would definitely recommend
