I can't get behind the hype around this foundation. I love NYX as a brand, so I was very disappointed that this foundation didn't work for me.  A little bit about my skin type: I have extremely oily skin and texture.  I look for foundations that are matte and long lasting, since I'm usually out and about during the day.

Pros: The shade range is decent, so hopefully everyone can find a shade that works for them.  This foundation would probably work for dry/normal skin with not a lot to cover, since the coverage is pretty light and it doesn't dry down very matte.

Cons: The consistency is so liquidy and thin.  I bought this foundation with the recommended NYX brush, and it just soaked up the product.  I believe it recommended 4-6 drops for full coverage, but I used at least 10 drops and only got light to medium coverage with another foundation brush.  Even though I set this foundation with a powder, I still became oily after a few hours and it made my face look horrible.  My blush and bronzer did not blend well on top of this foundation either.  Lastly, this foundation is so expensive for drugstore prices! $14 for a little bottle is a lot, and it is not worth it for me.  If you have oily skin or need a lot of coverage, stay away from this foundation.

Review for: Medium Olive more...
I love Nyx as a brand, so when I finally had enough I bought the Nyx total control drops because of all the good reviews I had seen and heard on YouTube and other sites. However I was so disappointed for multiple reasons.
1. It made my skin look so lifeless, dull, dry, and ashy. I looked horrible with it on I tried to apply it both with a makeup sponge and a foundation brush. Neither helped the foundation look at least a little decent.
2. I hate how runny the product is. It is so difficult to control, making it hard to have an even coverage.
3. It is so messy, when I first got it out of the box and tried the foundation it got everywhere on the bottle I don't even know how that happened, but it did and left a gross film on the quishy part where you hold it and also on the bottle.
4. The price is ridiculous for the amount you are receiving. $13 for the smallest amount of foundation. I'd rather pay $9 for Maybelline fit me foundation that will last me for a good few months.
So disappointed in this product, the hassle is finish is not worth a penny of your money.

This is great for natural days! I have dry and acne prone skin and this has never caused me to break out. I would recommend putting 4 drops on your face (one on each cheek, forehead, and chin) it doesn't bring out any of my gross dry patches or cause me acne. I wouldn't put a lot of this (unless you have normal skin) because it started showing up on my dry spots. Very affordable and great! This is not full coverage but it's long wearing.

I was really looking forward to this foundation because the reviews were great and NYX has never failed me before, but I guess there's a first for everything.

Pros- The shade range is great for a drugstore foundation. Especially if you're as pale and pink as I am. On the website they go by undertone next to the shade name which is incredibly helpful. I've always struggled with a color match but this nailed it.

Cons- Well, first of all I think this foundation would be better for someone with oily skin because it looked great at first, but half an hour later i was literally flaking as it was so dry. Yes I moisturized and primed first. My second complaint is how thin it is. The box calls for about 4 drops for full coverage but in reality you need around 10, and with how small the bottle it's really not worth the $13 even.

I'm pretty impressed with this foundation so far. I wasn't expecting too much, even though I love NYX, I've been let down by so many drug store foundations that I had little hope left. I had a coupon for NYX at Ulta and decided to try it out and I'm glad I did! You only need 3ish drops (cheeks and forehead) for a nice medium coverage, and it's one of the few products that is buildable without feeling cakey. I was most impressed with the finish.... It feels like velvet on my skin!! They have so many shades, that I'm finally not the palest one - I actually had to go up 5ish shades for Vanilla!!

I don't hate this foundation, but I wouldn't say it's my favorite either. It's probably the only matte foundation that I've been able to use without it making me look 20 years older, which is a plus. It has light to medium coverage that you can build without it pilling; although, I don't feel like it covered the small melasma spot on my cheek. Up close you could really see this foundation on my skin, so it didn't really give that no-makeup makeup look that I usually try to go for.. This could be because of my skin type and my skincare routine, which involves heavy moisturization. Maybe the foundation just didn't "jive" with my skin.. I plan on using this up, but once finished, I will continue my hunt for a better foundation.

I absolutely love this stuff. I just recently tried for the first time. And by far this is the best yet with a great price to go with it. I purchased this at Ulta so you know I had tons of products to choose from. I originally was going to repurchase another "Its product", that was the plan. But like most ladies that visit ulta/ sephora etc we cant just walk in and walk out, with what we planned for. Ulta is a pretty girls candy land!! Lol. Anyhow , ive watched so many videos with these new products with the dropper, so thats what caught my eye. And of course than I needed to fine the color that matched me. And that can be really hard for us girls. Or maybe thats just me? And I found a nearly exact match. Yah!! And of course I needed to purchase a new brush to use my new product. But I will leave a review about that as well. Real quik tip though I did purchase a nyx brush that I really love , but my all time favorites for ALL your foundation application &/or blending, are the toothbrush blender brushes. I use Anastasia bh , but ive also tried off brand ones and they all work GREAT for foundation application. And it worked perfect with this nyx total control foundation , it gives me a "FLAWLESS LOOK", Everytime. Very easy to apply, a little goes along way. Its long- lasting, and it has a great price to go with it. I highly recommend this product to all ladies & gentlemen .. I love love,, LOVE IT!!

During the summertime as well as anytime in looking for a lighter finish then this is my go to. It's very natural looking but also buildable so you can get the coverage you want. I actually just the bareMinerals Perfecting Face Brush with it because I received it in a boxycharm box and it's basically the same brush. Using the brush gives a much higher finish than using a damp beauty blender for sure. I do have to set this foundation because it is most definitely not transfer proof. The color range is fantastic though! I actually bought porcelain the first time because normally that's where I'm at but it's actually too light so I have to go with a shade higher.

I have been looking for a perfect foundation from a long time and had my eye on this one. The price was keeping me from getting it since it is tad bit expensive for a drugstore foundation. I received $5 off $10 coupon from ulta and first thing I ran to the store and grabbed this. It is best to put it directly on the skin according to the coverage you want. I blended using my beauty blender and believe me or not there was hardly any product soaked on it. The best thing I like is the coverage is buidable.. So you can use it anytime and adjust the coverage according to the occasion. All in all a good product. Worth the money.
P.S: still lookout for the ulta coupon!

I just can't get behind this foundation. It has pretty decent coverage but the consistency and the look on my skin is not my favorite. I feel like my skin looks powdery and bumpy after I apply it, and it does not have great staying power. After wearing it for like half a day I will be able to see it coming apart around my nose and eyes. I also find that the dropper method of application is not easy to apply at all. If I apply directly to my face it will run down and drip off my face and if I apply it to my hand too much of the foundation will get absorbed by my hand before I have a chance to apply it. There are better, cheap foundation options out there.

I really want to find a good foundation. Most I've used looks caked on or makes my face look likes it peeling. My face is not even dry, but it looks like it is when I apply foundation. Could be the oils in the makeup mixing with the oils on my face. Does anyone recommend this brand? I so wish I could try before I buy!
