I can't get behind the hype around this foundation. I love NYX as a brand, so I was very disappointed that this foundation didn't work for me.  A little bit about my skin type: I have extremely oily skin and texture.  I look for foundations that are matte and long lasting, since I'm usually out and about during the day.

Pros: The shade range is decent, so hopefully everyone can find a shade that works for them.  This foundation would probably work for dry/normal skin with not a lot to cover, since the coverage is pretty light and it doesn't dry down very matte.

Cons: The consistency is so liquidy and thin.  I bought this foundation with the recommended NYX brush, and it just soaked up the product.  I believe it recommended 4-6 drops for full coverage, but I used at least 10 drops and only got light to medium coverage with another foundation brush.  Even though I set this foundation with a powder, I still became oily after a few hours and it made my face look horrible.  My blush and bronzer did not blend well on top of this foundation either.  Lastly, this foundation is so expensive for drugstore prices! $14 for a little bottle is a lot, and it is not worth it for me.  If you have oily skin or need a lot of coverage, stay away from this foundation.

This is a 10 in numeral shade , buff in name shade . Im not light tan and this color has a pale finishing touch and the next shade being the 11 is too dark for me , its formula is good to buy 2 and mix and match to get your perfect shade i just wasnt sure at the time of my purchase . It has great coverage but not full. Medium-full coverage . It is super liquidy but once you start moving it around (better with a brush) it starts creating thickness and coverage . It sets powdery , by that i mean its not drying but it does have a matte finish , but if you tend to touch and hug others with ur face or even chin it will stain clothes . Its as if you did powder foundation ontop, even if you did set it , makes it even more powdery but not cakey . And it is odd and all but its great to me just i didnt choose the right color . I havent tried setting it with matte setting spray so i dont know if the color trespassing would cancel out as so . It does not dry out through out the time of wear like some dewy foundations at the end of the day arent dewy this isnt dewy but not matte and stays exactly how you finished until you take it off .

This has quickly become my favorite drugstore foundation. I have very sensitive and very pale dry skin, which says something about the product. Many foundations irritate my skin, but not this one! I was even amazed to see that this product had shades lighter than my skin tone, which is hard to imagine because I'm usually the palest shade if at all. The only hiccup with this product is that it does apply very liquidy at first. So if you try to apply it with a brush it might become very frustrating. To apply this product I put a couple drops on each cheek, my chin, and my forehead. Then I spread the products around with my fingers before I fine tune the application with a beauty blender or my sigma F80. I then set my t-zone with setting powder and I'm good to go. This product can easily build coverage and is fairly long lasting. It makes my skin look smooth and flawless. I would recommend exfoliating 1-2 times per week when using this product. If you are using a full coverage look it can emphasize those dead skin cells, which isn't cute. Overall, I highly recommend.

I just started using this foundation a few days ago and so far I am impressed with it. It has a matte finish but is not overly drying. It also lasts for an incredibly long time. I can put it on in the morning and it will not budge all day long. I was able to find a perfect color match for my skin tone, but I bought it at Ulta which had testers out so I was able to try out a few shades and figure out which one worked best for me. It may be a bit challenging to judge the color from the packaging if you are purchasing it somewhere without testers. The only downsides to this foundation are that you do not get a whole lot of product in each bottle, so I am not sure how long this will last me and it is on the more expensive end of drugstore foundations. Also, figuring out how to apply it can be a bit of a challenge because the formula is so runny. However, once you have found a method that works for you (I just put the drops on the back of my hand and then dip the recommended brush into the product to apply) then it is not so bad. I have heard of other methods like using a sponge instead of the brush or applying the drops directly to your face (I tried this but felt like it was strange because of how runny the foundation is). All in all, I think it is a good product and  would recommend giving it a try if you are curious.

I bought this on sale at Target but it usually costs about 14$. I actually really liked this foundation for an everyday look! Here's what I liked: 1) It leaves a very natural matte finish. I have dry skin that gets oily throughout the day and this wasn't too dry for my skin. 2) you really do have control with how much foundation you put on your skin and the coverage youre trying to achieve. I wouldnt say this gives you full coverage, more of a medium but it blends so well with the skin and its very buildable. 3) It lasts all day! my skin looks the same at the end of the day and that's really cool from a drugstore product. 4) for a drugstore foundation, there is a great shade range! and if you cant find a shade, its so easy to mix the different shades.
cons: it has a watery consistency and will run down your face real quick. again, it doesnt ever really get to full coverage but i love the medium coverage (i usualy use three drops). the brush thats supposed to come with it is kinda useless. dont buy the brush!
this is my new go to foundation for a nice afternoon "no make up" look. and i recommend trying if theres a sale at ulta or target for sure!

I bought this foundation from the #nyxcosmetics website after taking the "match my foundation" quiz or whatever called... I took it 3 times, slightly changing my responses each time and got the exact same product and shade as a result each time. So either it is rigged to sell this stuff or I must fit the criteria.
PRO- there are a lot of shades to pick from
CON- there is no way to test what matches
PRO- The bottle is durable I like dropper idea
CON- it isn't really a dropper. It just dips in &collects product along the shaft.
PRO- you can layer for more coverage
CON- if you don't let it dry completely between layering you'll have streaks/uneven blending
CON- the shade matched to me is too light and I cant return or complain as there is not a nyx store anywhere near me and of course the shade I purchased is only sold online
CON- the manner that the product dispenses if "dropped" on your face looks like something out of a dirty movie so either do it alone or place product in hands before putting on face and blending.

Guys, I wanted this to work so badly. I wanted to fall in love with this foundation. NYX has so, so many great products but this one is just a huge miss.

It gets major props from me for the shade range - it's expansive, and that's important, and more than a lot of brands can say about their foundation launches. Unfortunately, that's where my praise for this product ends.

I prefer a full-coverage foundation, and that was nearly unacheivable with this formula. I use a damp beauty sponge to apply foundation, and the amount of product I had to use to cover the redness of my face was borderline absurd. On top of my redness, I have oily skin - this stuff did not stay put. I only got about 2 hours of wear when set with powder before my oil started to shine through. Products didn't layer nicely on top of this stuff, either.

I'm holding out hope that NYX will release a GOOD foundation at some point...but this is just not it. It's a hard pass from me.

The NYX Total Control Drop Foundation was not the worst foundation that I've tried. I have oily/combination skin and I found my face started feeling sticky within 2-3 hours. I got this feeling when I used a setting spray and when I didn't use a setting spray. It is really hard to color match unless you have testers because the colors on the box, bottle, and signs don't match up. I also think that you get enough product for the price. I was expecting the bottle to be bigger than it actually was. I tried this foundation with a Morphe Y6 brush and a beauty blender. I found that the brush left streaks and the beauty blender had to be applied in more layers. Overall, the idea of being able to choose your coverage is amazing but the product itself could be better.

This has become one of my favorite foundations. I have very oily sensitive skin. I prefer a foundation with highly adjustable coverage and this one does it. It is quite liquidy and can be runny, I like to dot it on my face, blend with a brush and then spot add where I want more coverage. I've found that the application is easy to manipulate depending on what brush I use. For a more sheer coverage I use a skunk brush, for more flawless look I use a very dense brush. Great price point. The only thing that would make this perfect would be a matte velvet option. I do find that if I don't blot it does slide around on my face a bit. Other than that this is an amazing foundation. Great shade range. Easily accessible.

I can. not. get enough of this stuff; it is the perfect foundation.  I tend to get extremely dry skin in the winter, and my favorite thing about this stuff is the fact that it doesn't exacerbate it.  I apply it with a beauty blender, using about two-three drops on each section of my face.  A little goes a long way with this product, so you won't need to run back to the store every month to restock.  I love the amount of control I have with this product as well; some days I want more coverage than others, some days I want as little as possible so that I get a nice glow but nothing too dramatic.  You can go big or go natural with this stuff.  By far one of the best purchases I've ever made.  The only downside I've found is that in the bottle it looks darker than it is, so whichever shade you think goes best with your complexion in store, I'd suggest going a shade darker.

I have really dry skin right now thank to winter? Do you recommend this foundation? I want to try it but I don't want to waste my money if it's not meant for my skin type
